Strengthening state management of minerals in the new period

On the afternoon of October 6, comrade Le Huyen - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DARD) report on state management of minerals in the province.

Comrade Le Huyen gave a speech at the meeting.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, on September 23, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment handed over 24 mineral exploitation licenses to the province; currently, there are 100 mining areas that have been granted mineral exploitation licenses by the People's Committees of Khanh Hoa province and Ninh Thuan province (old). Regarding the mineral planning implemented by the Central Government, the province currently has more than 32,200 hectares of Group I minerals (titanium, tin); more than 3,100 hectares of Group II minerals (glass sand, paving stones)...; planning implemented by the Provincial People's Committee: Khanh Hoa province (old) has a total land area planned for minerals of 867 hectares (91 mining sites), Ninh Thuan province (old) has a total area planned for mineral exploration of more than 3,400 hectares (206 mining sites).

At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches and sectors focused on analyzing, pointing out a number of problems and proposing solutions to remove them in the state management of minerals in the province related to the following contents: Land use indicators for mineral activities, planning, recalculating fees for granting mineral exploitation rights to enterprises...

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Le Huyen highly appreciated the efforts of departments, branches, sectors and localities in the province in the state management of minerals in recent times. Comrade Le Huyen emphasized that mineral management is a complex field, related to many fields of investment, land, construction..., legal regulations change continuously; human resources, conditions and means are still limited. Therefore, with the remaining problems in the province, Comrade Le Huyen assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with functional units to review mineral planning, land use indicators, update mineral mines on the map, the number of enterprises needing to recalculate mineral exploitation rights fees... to quickly organize a meeting with functional units to unify solutions. In the new development stage, departments, branches and sectors need to focus on assessing the potential and advantages of minerals in Khanh Hoa province after the merger; Review, compile statistics, and manage common construction materials to meet the socio -economic development needs of the province; the Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinates well with the Provincial Police and localities to strengthen management of areas with illegal mineral exploitation.
