Faced with the traffic situation in the central area of Da Lat, the administrative and political center of the new Lam Dong province, especially at intersections that are being upgraded and repaired, Lam Dong Provincial Police have increased the number of traffic police to regulate and divert traffic, minimizing local congestion during rush hours.

According to records over the past few days, right in the center of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat and some traffic intersections in neighboring wards, road upgrade and renovation projects are still in disarray, making traffic regulation and travel for residents and tourists difficult.

At the roundabout area in front of Da Lat night market, the traffic here is quite busy. In addition, the roundabout area and adjacent roads such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Le Dai Hanh, Pham Ngu Lao in recent weeks have been focused by units with machinery and equipment to peel off the old degraded asphalt layer, preparing to lay a new asphalt layer, so the traffic is somewhat affected.

However, according to traders in the area in front of Da Lat night market, the construction unit does not regularly renovate the road surface and does not focus on completing it completely. Many sections are dug up but are not fenced or have safety warnings.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Huy, a resident of Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat, who does business next to the roundabout, said: This is the central area of Da Lat, so the number of vehicles coming here is very large, especially during rush hours, so the prolonged construction has significantly affected the business activities of the people and the travel of tourists.

Similarly, the project to upgrade Hoang Van Thu Street from the Tran Phu - Ba Thang Hai - Tran Le intersection to the Hoang Van Thu - Nguyen Dinh Quan intersection, about 1.2 km long, which started construction at the end of 2024, is still in disarray, with some sections unfinished. This is a road that often experiences local traffic congestion, especially on major holidays and weekends.
It is worth mentioning that at the intersection of Hoang Van Thu - Dong Tam street extending to the intersection of Hoang Van Thu - Huyen Tran Cong Chua street, the construction units upgraded the road surface, leaving concrete pieces, rocks and manholes scattered everywhere but did not put up warning ropes, causing insecurity for traffic participants.

Captain Nguyen Huu Luong, Deputy Head of Team 2, Traffic Police Department, Lam Dong Provincial Police, said that since the operation of the two-level local government from July 1, the Provincial Police leaders have paid great attention and regularly directed the deployment of forces to regulate traffic at major intersections and traffic junctions that are being expanded and renovated.
However, some roads under construction have not been officially put into operation, as well as the renovation, expansion, and paving of some important intersections have affected general traffic regulation.

“We recommend that the construction unit and project investor clear away materials and equipment, mark lines on the road and install signs for the completed construction section, ensuring safe and convenient movement of people and vehicles. For the unfinished construction area, it is necessary to increase machinery, arrange reasonable construction time, and avoid construction during rush hours,” Captain Nguyen Huu Luong informed.
