On September 10, at the Central Military Commission Office, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense , presented Decision No. 373/QDD-BQP and Decision No. 388/QDD-BQP dated September 9, 2025 on the appointment of Colonel Vu Tuan Anh and Colonel Nguyen Vu Ha to the position of Deputy General Director of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel).
Previously, Viettel's leadership included Chairman and General Director of the Group - Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang; Party Secretary, Deputy General Director - Major General Nguyen Dinh Chien; Deputy General Directors: Major General Do Minh Phuong, Colonel Dao Xuan Vu, Colonel Cao Anh Son and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dat.
Colonel Vu Tuan Anh was born in 1980 and started his journey at Viettel in September 2004, as Head of Software Group of Technical Department, Military Telecommunications Corporation.

Mr. Tuan Anh led Viettel Aerospace Institute from its inception, before holding the position of Deputy General Director of the Group. Up to now, Viettel Aerospace Institute has achieved remarkable results. These are research, design, manufacture, production and successful acceptance at the Ministry of National Defense level and putting into service high-tech strategic weapons. These are the first products that Vietnamese people have independently researched, designed and successfully produced domestically.
This result is a great step forward in the development of Vietnam's defense industry, actively contributing to building a strong, streamlined army equipped with modern weapons, protecting the country's peace.
On October 10, 2024, the President signed Decision No. 1008/QD-CTN on conferring the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces on Viettel Aerospace Institute for its outstanding achievements. On June 20, 2025, Colonel Vu Tuan Anh was awarded the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal.

Colonel Nguyen Vu Ha was born in 1978 and has worked at Viettel since August 2008. He was the Director of the R&D Center, Viettel Technology Company, and served as Director of the Viettel Research and Development Institute, before becoming General Director of Viettel High Technology Industry Corporation (VHT) in March 2019.
By September 2025, Colonel Nguyen Vu Ha will hold the position of Deputy General Director of the Group. VHT is the main research and development unit in the Group. The unit has researched and mastered many core technologies for both civilian and military purposes. VHT's products are among the best in the world. VHT also maintains the number 1 position in terms of Vietnamese legal entities registering and being granted patents, many of which are exclusively protected in the demanding US market (by the end of 2024, there will be 24 patents in the US). Not stopping there, VHT is also a pioneer in exporting Viettel technology, including military equipment, shooting simulation systems, aircraft simulation systems, 5G networks, etc.
Under the leadership of Colonel Nguyen Vu Ha, in 2022, VHT had the great honor of receiving the Ho Chi Minh Prize from the President - the most prestigious award in Vietnam for two scientific works: Marine surveillance radar and Military radio platform. This is the first time Viettel has had a work awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize.
Both projects were independently developed and manufactured by Viettel, not only saving thousands of billions of VND in research and production costs but also ensuring operational secrecy and information security, which determines the effectiveness of the country's defense system. The engineers have demonstrated the soldiers' capacity, creativity, spirit, and self-reliance./.
