Viettel HCMC and HEPZA cooperate to promote comprehensive digital transformation

On the afternoon of September 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA) and Viettel HCMC signed a strategic cooperation agreement to promote digital transformation in state management and production and business activities of enterprises, towards building green, smart and sustainable EPZs and industrial parks.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Head of HEPZA Management Board, affirmed that digital transformation is a breakthrough solution to improve management and operation capacity and create sustainable development momentum for industrial parks and export processing zones. The cooperation with Viettel will contribute to realizing the goal of developing smart and modern export processing zones and industrial parks, in the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo .

According to the agreement, Viettel HCMC will deploy solutions on 4 main pillars:

- Building digital government at HEPZA level : Deploying business management software, applying geographic information system (GIS) in planning and managing export processing zones - industrial parks.

- Providing a comprehensive digital ecosystem : Electronic invoices, digital signatures, accounting software, production management, smart logistics, digital social insurance, data centers, information security.

- Developing digital human resources : Ensuring that 100% of HEPZA civil servants and public employees are equipped with digital skills; 1%-3% have advanced IT qualifications; each department has a full-time or part-time staff member in charge of digital transformation; 80%-90% of workers in the EPZ - IZ are trained in basic to comprehensive digital skills.

- Developing smart digital infrastructure : Upgrading telecommunications infrastructure, 5G coverage in industrial parks; deploying Intelligent Operation Centers (IOCs) applying AI, surveillance cameras, serving land management, environment, security and order...

HEPZA and Viettel also aim to build a smart EPZ - IP model through upgrading digital infrastructure and comprehensive 5G coverage in export processing zones and industrial parks. At the same time, deploying an Intelligent Operation Center (IOC) to serve land management, water resources, environment, security and order, and business monitoring using AI technology and smart camera systems.

Mr. Ngo Manh Hung, Director of Viettel HCMC, said that Viettel is committed to accompanying HEPZA in the process of comprehensive digital transformation, and believes that this cooperation will create leverage to help the industrial business community of HCMC improve their competitiveness in the global market.

The signing between HEPZA and Viettel HCMC is expected to create a breakthrough in building green, smart and sustainable EPZs and digital industrial parks, contributing to making HCMC become the leading industrial, innovation and digital transformation center in the country by 2045.
