Perspective of the relic being repaired and upgraded. |
On December 25, 1951, President Ho Chi Minh signed the Decree establishing the Department of Transport, an important event marking the development of the Transport industry, contributing to ensuring logistics for the resistance war against French colonialism, including the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
According to historical records, immediately after its establishment, the Department of Transport organized a transport network combining motorized and primitive transport, road and waterway. Units, cadres and workers in the transport sector from many localities gathered here, contributing their strength and intelligence, ensuring the traffic lifeline to serve the resistance war. The Department of Transport was awarded the emulation flag by Uncle Ho; many cadres and workers received noble awards from the State.
At the relic site, local authorities and people built a memorial stele (in 2008) and collected artifacts and recorded witness testimonies to preserve the value of the relic. In 2025, the Vietnam Road Administration will build a memorial house for Uncle Ho with a total investment of about 2.5 billion VND, from socialized sources and contributions from industry officials. The project will be completed on the occasion of National Day, September 2, 2025.
The ranking of the relic took place on the occasion of the whole country celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2) and the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the Transport sector, contributing to honoring the contributions of the sector and educating traditions for today's and future generations.
