Thanh Hoa lets students stay home on September 29 to cope with storm No. 10

On September 27, the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training issued an official dispatch requesting educational institutions in the province to allow students from kindergarten to high school to take a day off on September 29, 2025 (Monday) to ensure safety when storm No. 10 makes landfall.

Accordingly, the Acting Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and wards; Heads of affiliated units to seriously implement Official Dispatch No. 23/CD-UBND dated September 26, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on proactively responding to storm No. 10; Official Dispatch No. 1638/CD-BGDDT dated September 25, 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training ; Conclusion of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the meeting with localities on the morning of September 27.

Educational institutions are required to closely monitor the storm's developments, absolutely not to be negligent or subjective; proactively prepare response plans with a decisive spirit, early, from afar, ensuring prevention and control measures at the highest level. Localities and units must have plans to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and administrators, minimizing damage caused by the storm; notify all students to stay home from school on September 29. From Tuesday, September 30, based on the storm situation and post-storm circulation, educational institutions will report to the People's Committees of communes, wards and the Department of Education and Training to decide whether to continue to let students stay home from school (if necessary).

The Department of Education and Training requires units to review, inspect, and consolidate school facilities, especially remote schools in remote areas, areas at risk of landslides and flooding; move assets, equipment, and records to safe places to minimize damage. Schools must be ready to receive people to take shelter from storms when ensuring safety conditions; after storms, promptly repair damage, clean classrooms, prevent epidemics, and ensure a safe and clean environment.
