Thanh Hoa - Hua Phan: continue cooperation to build a peaceful, friendly, stable and developing border

On December 17, in Thanh Hoa , the Border Work Meeting between Thanh Hoa province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Hua Phan province, Lao PDR in 2024 took place.

At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi emphasized: Vietnam - Laos are two neighboring countries with mountains and rivers connected by a strip of land, the brotherly relationship between the two peoples of Vietnam - Laos has been formed and nurtured over thousands of years of history. On the foundation of that good relationship, the special traditional friendship between the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Hoa - Hua Phan provinces has been cultivated by many generations of leaders and people of the two provinces, always maintained firmly, faithfully and purely.

The two provinces of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan have been actively promoting comprehensive cooperation in all fields, including border and territorial management. Based on the agreement on socio-economic cooperation, national defense and security between the two provinces, the units have actively and proactively organized many exchange activities, coordinated well in border management, contributing to maintaining political security and border security of the two provinces.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province hopes that the two provinces of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan will continue to promote and inherit the results achieved in the past time and actively strengthen the building of solidarity and friendship between the people of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces to build a peaceful , friendly, stable and developed border.

On behalf of the delegation of the Border Committee of Hua Phan province, Deputy Governor of Hua Phan province Phut Phan Keo Vong Xay affirmed that the Party Committee and the People's Government of the ethnic groups of Hua Phan province will actively and unanimously strengthen the building of a close-knit, friendly relationship between the people of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces, making it more friendly, stable and developed. At the same time, Vietnamese investors are encouraged to come to research and invest in building border markets, especially at the Nam Xoi International Border Gate (Laos side) to facilitate trade and service activities.

On this occasion, the two working delegations discussed and agreed to approve the draft Cooperation Agreement between Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces for the 2021-2025 period.
