Capital Youth sent more than 700 responsible opinions to City leaders

The meeting and dialogue demonstrated the affection and concern of Hanoi leaders for the young generation of the capital; at the same time, created a forum for union members and youth to express their aspirations, contribute opinions and promote initiatives to build a developed capital.

Create conditions for young people to access loans for production and business

Reporting on the implementation results of the conclusion of the Chairman of the City People's Committee's dialogue with young people in 2023, Director of the Department of Home Affairs Tran Dinh Canh said that on June 29, 2023, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee directly had a dialogue with the capital's youth with the topic "Hanoi youth start-up, innovation and digital transformation".

After the Dialogue Conference, the City People's Committee issued Notice No. 322/TB-VP dated July 13, 2023, assigning departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to fully absorb the issues discussed and answered at the conference; proactively research and propose competent authorities to promptly and effectively resolve legitimate opinions and recommendations of union members and youth.

After 1 year of implementing the conclusions of the dialogue conference, the city's departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of districts, towns have performed well the State management of youth; supported Youth Union organizations at all levels to perform well the assigned tasks; supported young people to start businesses and create many opportunities for young people to participate and contribute to the movements and common activities of agencies and units;

At the same time, creating conditions for union members and youth to successfully build and organize production and business models, paying attention to implementing the goals and targets for youth in phase 1 (2021 - 2025) assigned by the City People's Committee.

Specifically, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has presided over and coordinated with the City Social Policy Bank to advise the City People's Committee to submit to the City People's Council a draft Resolution regulating special subjects eligible for loans from local budget capital entrusted through the Social Policy Bank of Hanoi City. In which, it has added and expanded the direct loan subjects to Hanoi youth with difficult circumstances in studying, working and working. The draft will be approved at the upcoming City People's Council meeting).

Along with that, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs also coordinated with the People's Committee of Long Bien district and vocational training institutions in the city to organize the Festival of connecting vocational education in the capital with the labor market in 2023, to provide admission counseling, career orientation and job creation for nearly 7,000 students of high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers and workers in the city.

The Department of Information and Communications has organized 97 training courses on digital transformation and information security for 1,266 young civil servants in the city; the City Social Policy Bank has proposed a number of contents to create more favorable conditions for young people in the capital to access capital, the total loan turnover of policy credit programs in 2023 for young people is 465.2 billion VND, of which 8,956 young people borrowed 447 billion VND for production and business and improving the quality of life.

According to the Director of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs, the organization of the Youth Dialogue Conference at the district and commune People's Committees has been carried out in accordance with regulations with rich and diverse topics, suitable for each locality and youth group.

Through the conferences, information was provided on the current situation of the youth, forecasts of opportunities and challenges in the coming time; and opinions, recommendations and legitimate proposals from young people were listened to, especially on the contents of studying, working, starting a business, digital transformation, etc.

After the dialogue conferences, the dialogue conclusions are publicly announced according to regulations and specific assignments are made to local departments, offices, and units to handle the youth's recommendations and proposals.

Youth participate in building a green, cultured, civilized and modern capital

Following the success of the youth dialogue program in 2023, within the framework of the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Hanoi, term 2024 - 2029, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh chaired the dialogue conference with the capital's youth with the theme: "Youth participate in building a green, cultured, civilized and modern capital". This is an area that the city is interested in and prioritizes resources for investment.

Delegates can raise questions, opinions, propose solutions, and contribute ideas focusing on 3 main groups of issues. Among them, the "Green Hanoi" group of issues with contents and solutions aims to promote the role and responsibility of youth union members in protecting the environment and responding to climate change, building a bright - green - clean - beautiful capital; applying green energy and urban planning.

The issue group "Cultural Hanoi" with contents and solutions to promote the role and responsibility of union members and youth in preserving, conserving and promoting the traditional cultural and historical values ​​of the capital; developing cultural industry, managing and encouraging KOL - "Influencers", promoting and advertising tourism and including "Hanoi Studies" in the education program.

The "Civilized and modern Hanoi" issue group includes suggestions and recommendations from union members and young people in the fields of building digital citizens, digital government, digital society; developing high-quality human resources, mechanisms to attract talent, and applying science and technology in the "Digital Age", and contributions of young people to promoting Hanoi as a member of the "Creative Cities" network and in the process of building Hanoi into a "Learning City" of UNESCO.

 

As soon as the conference plan was implemented from May 2024, a large number of youth union members and young people in the capital expressed their interest in the dialogue conference; asked questions and offered advice and recommendations on issues and fields that young people are interested in. The Hanoi Youth Union and the City Department of Home Affairs have compiled more than 700 opinions from youth union members and young people in residential areas, school youth, civil servants, etc. These are enthusiastic, legitimate and practical opinions, summarizing the thoughts and aspirations of the majority of youth union members; clearly demonstrating the role and responsibility of young people, the enthusiasm, initiative and responsibility in the activities and movements of youth organizations.
