In the match that just ended this afternoon (August 25), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost 0-3 to Germany in Phuket (Thailand). With this result, Coach Tuan Kiet's team is at risk of being eliminated right after the second round of matches.
However, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has shown efforts to overcome the difference in class compared to the European representative.

According to Volleyball World statistics, Thanh Thuy was the player who scored the most points in this match. In the match against Poland, Thanh Thuy played below her ability, but in the match against Germany, she rose to become the brightest star of the team.
The second highest scorer of the Vietnam women's volleyball team is Kieu Trinh with 6 points (5 attack points, 1 block point).
The blocking ability of the Vietnamese women's team is not good when the team only scored 2 blocking points in this match.

On the other side of the battle line, captain Weitzel scored the most points with 15 points (11 points of attack, 4 points of blocking). Followed by Orthmann (14 points) and Alsmeier (13 points). Like Poland, Germany blocked the ball very effectively and prevented many attacks of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
In total, Germany won 9 block points in this match. The height advantage was fully utilized by this team against the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team still has a match against Kenya in the last round at 5:00 p.m. on August 27. We have a chance to win a historic victory in our first participation in the world tournament.
