Deputy Director of Quang Tri Department of Health Ha Lam Chi assessed that the path for people with disabilities to enter the labor market is still full of thorns. This program is a bridge for the government, businesses and people with disabilities to listen and share to connect dreams with opportunities, social responsibility with the aspirations of each person. Through the program, the Organizing Committee hopes to inspire the belief that people with disabilities not only need support, but can also become a valuable workforce, making practical contributions to the community and society. Every business that opens its arms is giving opportunities, giving new life; every policy that is adjusted to the people's wishes is a solid step on the journey to building a humane, inclusive and equitable society.

At the program, delegates were introduced to employment support policies for people with disabilities; vocational training programs and channels for consuming products made by people with disabilities; instructions on promoting products on social networking platforms, inclusive recruitment processes and building an inclusive working environment for people with disabilities. Managers, businesses and people with disabilities openly discussed job opportunities, recruitment needs, removing barriers to promote an inclusive working environment and support policy mechanisms.

Quang Tri province currently has 52,119 people with disabilities, including 12,392 people with extremely severe disabilities, 38,801 people with severe disabilities and 1,182 people with mild disabilities. They are always persistent, eager to live, work, integrate and contribute to the community with their own hands and intelligence. However, the biggest barriers for people with disabilities are social prejudice, lack of skills and inappropriate infrastructure to support people with disabilities. Job creation as well as job introduction for people with disabilities are also facing many difficulties from relevant parties.

Mr. Le Van Tu, who is working at the Gio Linh Insurance Claims Support Center, said that as a disabled person, he understands the difficulties and barriers that disabled people face when looking for a job, especially the feeling of inferiority and self-consciousness. To overcome these barriers, he actively participated in local social activities, tried his best to assert himself, find a job to support himself, help his family, and integrate into the community.

Mr. Hong Jung Pyo, Country Director of Medipeace, said that in order for local businesses to be ready to recruit people with disabilities, it is necessary to develop and provide vocational training programs that are suitable to the actual needs of businesses. This will also be one of the core functions of the Social Protection and Rehabilitation Center for People with Disabilities that Medipeace - the project management consultant, is implementing in Quang Tri, supporting sustainable economic independence for people with disabilities in the community. In addition, businesses also need to consider the type and level of disability, ensuring equal employment opportunities, without discrimination against people with disabilities who are capable and willing to work.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Head of the Department of Social Protection - Children, Quang Tri Department of Health, to create job opportunities for people with disabilities, businesses need to boldly recruit people with disabilities, considering it an investment for sustainable development. Stakeholders should increase the organization of job fairs, forums connecting people with disabilities and businesses; the government continues to pay attention, simplify procedures, support land, loans for people with disabilities and international organizations and projects continue to accompany in vocational training, technical support, and create new livelihoods for people with disabilities.
