On July 6, Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance (SHI) and the Military Telecommunications Industry Group ( Viettel ) - Ho Chi Minh City branch signed an authorization contract to collect voluntary social insurance and family health insurance in Ho Chi Minh City.
Director of Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance Lo Quan Hiep said that up to now, Ho Chi Minh City has more than 2.4 million people participating in social insurance and unemployment insurance. In addition, there are nearly 32,000 people participating in voluntary social insurance and more than 2.2 million people participating in family health insurance. This result is also thanks to the joint efforts of businesses and collection service organizations.

According to the HCM City Social Insurance, the unit has signed contracts to collect voluntary social insurance and self-paid health insurance with 216 agents. People can look up the address and phone number of the nearest collection agent to their residence through the "Online Lookup" utility on the Vietnam Social Insurance Portal (baohiemxahoi.gov.vn).
Now, through the signing of an authorization contract with Viettel - a company with a wide network and strong information technology infrastructure, Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance expects that health insurance and social insurance policies will reach every citizen. From there, the number of people participating in family health insurance and voluntary social insurance will increase.
It is expected that by the end of 2023, Viettel Ho Chi Minh City will develop 7,000 more voluntary social insurance participants and 100,000 more family health insurance participants.

Deputy Director of Viettel Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Anh Duc said that the unit will accompany the Social Security Agency with the common goal of developing the social security network. According to Mr. Duc, the unit will take advantage of the resources of over 7 million customers and over 6,000 service points to expand the number of participants in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance.
In addition, the unit will apply a digital interactive system and cashless payments to help people access services and make payments most conveniently.
According to information at the signing ceremony, there are currently 76 Viettel collection points ready to receive and process people's health insurance and social insurance transactions. In the second quarter of 2023, Viettel Ho Chi Minh City will continue to expand transaction points.
