The route from Toa Kham wharf to Dap Da bridge is completing the final stages.

In recent days, local people and tourists have been delighted that the walking and cycling route along the Perfume River from Toa Kham Wharf to the foot of Dap Da Bridge has been basically completed, with only a few final sub-items remaining.

After more than 9 months of implementation, the completed route not only creates a highlight for residents and visitors but also contributes significantly to the improvement of the urban environment along the Perfume River, creating an ecological landscape in the area. This walking route will connect with the Nhu Y riverside walking route project, from Dap Da to Van Duong bridge, about 1.6km long, 6m wide, which has been completed; with the purpose of connecting walking routes along the Perfume River to serve the walking and cycling needs of residents and visitors, creating a continuous connection on the two river routes in the city center.

In 2024, Hue implemented the project to expand the Toa Kham tourist parking lot with a total investment of nearly 1.2 billion VND. The project includes items such as expanding the Toa Kham parking lot with an area of ​​1,200m2 combined with planting trees, grass, painting, arranging traffic signs and installing headlights in the parking area.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tuan, a resident living near this area, said that for many years, along the Huong River as well as other river branches, many urban improvement projects and traffic infrastructure have been invested in, newly built and upgraded, contributing to changing not only the face of the city center but also the wards and communes in the suburbs. People feel happy when the projects are implemented quickly, completed on schedule and put into use and exploitation soon, ensuring investment efficiency.

The project of the walking path combined with the bicycle path running along the banks of the Perfume River from Toa Kham Wharf to the foot of Dap Da Bridge was started in January 2025, with a total investment of more than 35 billion VND, invested by the Hue Green Park Center. The project is about 460m long, 6m wide, designed to combine walking paths, bicycle paths and many items, creating a highlight for the area on both banks of the Perfume River.

According to the reporter's records, the road has now completed most of the paving process with natural stone slabs, creating a flat, clean and durable surface. The seating section is arranged with a galvanized steel box frame, the ironwood seat surface is treated with oil. The route also has a galvanized steel pipe railing system, ironwood flower pots and a water supply and lighting system under construction, ensuring safety and creating an aesthetic effect at night.

Mr. Le Nhu Chinh, Director of Hue Green Park Center, said that the project's progress is ahead of the original plan. The project has basically completed more than 90% of the work volume, specifically the structure, paving, and railing installation; the lighting part is more than 90% completed and the effects are being run; the flower beds running along the road have reached more than 50% of the volume. Currently, the investor continues to urge the contractor to complete the remaining items soon, put the project into operation, contributing to urban beautification, creating ecological landscapes and tourist attractions for the banks of the Huong River. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025.
