The above information was emphasized by the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities (under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) in its admission announcement on the afternoon of March 27.
Each candidate can register to take one of three specialized classes (Literature, History, Geography). Instead of completing three general exams (Math, Literature, English) like previous years, this year candidates will only complete the specialized subject exam on the morning of June 1, 2024.

This year, the school recruited 140 students for 4 specialized classes, including two specialized Literature classes, one History class and one Geography class, each class has 35 students. Except for the Literature class, which increased its quota by 4, the remaining two specialized classes remained unchanged from last year. The school also decided to stop recruiting non-specialized classes according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training .
The school also noted that for students with the same admission score and at the bottom of the list, the school will prioritize candidates with provincial-level excellent student awards (the winning subject must be a specialized subject), then candidates with IELTS scores of 4.5 or higher, or other equivalent certificates, and finally consider the average score of the Foreign Language subject of 7 semesters (except semester II of grade 9).
Registration forms are filled out and submitted online from April 15 to May 8 (the admissions board does not accept direct registration forms). The school will have specific announcements and registration instructions on the website.
The school also plans to announce exam results and admission results for specialized classes before June 28.
Last year, the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities recruited 170 students for grade 10, including 66 for Literature, 35 for History, 35 for Geography and 34 for the high-quality system. The school recorded 1,579 applications for the grade 10 exam, a ratio of about 1 to 10.
The benchmark score for the Literature class is 34.60; the benchmark score for the History class is 30 and the benchmark score for the Geography class is 30.10.
The standard score for the specialized system is the total score of Literature, Math, English and the specialized subject (specialized subject has a coefficient of 2). The school considers admission based on the principle of taking the total score from high to low until the quota for each specialized class is full.
