Announcement: Regarding the selection of photography awards with the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" phase II

The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists announces the selection of photography awards with the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" Phase II - Phase 2023 - 2025

- Implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW, dated May 15, 2016 of the Politburo on promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

- Pursuant to Regulation No. 13-QC/BTGTW, dated January 29, 2021 of the Central Propaganda Department on the Regulations on Awards for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" for the period 2021 - 2025.

- Considering the proposal of the Creative - Exhibition Board, Office of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists , the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists decided to organize a photo selection on the topic "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style".

I. SELECTION CRITERIA :

Works submitted to the photography award on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" must meet the following requirements:

- Having discovery and creativity; achieving high quality in ideological and artistic content, effectively propagating and raising awareness of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; encouraging the entire Party, people and army to enthusiastically compete in patriotism, building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland; promoting and enhancing the position and image of Vietnam in the world .

- Has the effect of widely propagating the purpose, meaning and practical value of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, contributing to the Party building and rectification work; fostering the ideological, moral and cultural foundation in the whole Party and the whole society.

- Have a good social effect, discover, encourage, set an example, contribute to the replication of new factors, advanced models, good people, good deeds in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style; Build the personality of Vietnamese people; fight and criticize bad things, evil, wrong and negative viewpoints and behaviors.

II . PARTICIPANTS :

Authors who are Vietnamese (including Vietnamese living, working, studying abroad); authors who are foreigners with good quality photographic works, suitable for the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style" are all invited to participate (Overseas Vietnamese and foreigners send works through the Party Committee abroad).

III . SELECTION PROCESS AND PROCEDURES

1. Procedure:

Phase 2: Last photo submission deadline is December 31, 2024;

2. Selection procedure:

a. Step 1:

- The Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, City Party Committee, Overseas Party Committee, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, General Department of Politics of the People's Public Security established a Preliminary Committee to organize the selection of works, then send them to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

- The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists established a Preliminary Committee to review and select works of members to send to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

b. Step 2:

- The Central Propaganda Department established a Central Specialized Preliminary Council to review and select works that have passed the review from the Preliminary Councils of the Propaganda Departments of provincial and municipal Party Committees, Party Committees Abroad, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Department of Politics of the People's Public Security and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

- The Steering Committee of the Award for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" established a Final Council to evaluate the results from the Preliminary Council of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

IV . REGULATIONS ON WORKS :

- Contest photos must be digital, in jpg format. The longest dimension must be at least 1920 pixels, with a resolution of 300 dpi. (No captions or author names are allowed on the photo). Authors must send the contest photo file to the email address : BANSTTL.VAPA@GMAIL.COM , before 23:59 on December 31, 2024 .

The participating photos can be color or black and white, single photos or photo series. A photo series consists of 05 to 08 photos (with 1 completed mockup), considered 01 work. Each author can submit a maximum of 05 works. Authors fill in the work form and send it with the contest entry (See the Work Form here) .

- Photographic works created from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024 (2nd batch). Works published through competitions and newspapers are accepted.

- Do not accept collage photos.

- Works with copyright disputes will not be considered.

- Photos submitted for selection through the Propaganda Department of Provincial Party Committees, City Party Committees, Overseas Party Committees, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, General Department of Politics of the People's Public Security will not be submitted for preliminary selection by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

- The Organizing Committee is not responsible for copyright disputes of works and authors; not responsible for works that are lost, damaged, or past the prescribed time limit due to the process of sending them to the Organizing Committee.

V. PRIZES :

The Preliminary Council of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists will select 01 A prize, 01 to 03 B prizes, 01 to 05 C prizes and a number of Encouragement prizes to send to the higher-level Council for review and selection for awarding.

VI . LOCATION AND DEADLINE FOR RECEIVING WORKS :

- The Preliminary Board of the Propaganda Boards of the Provincial Party Committees, City Party Committees, Overseas Party Committees, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Department of Politics of the People's Public Security must send the selected works to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists no later than December 31, 2024.

- Members of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (who have not yet submitted their works to the Propaganda Department of Provincial Party Committees, City Party Committees, Party Committees Abroad, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Department of Politics of the People's Public Security) must submit their works to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists no later than December 31, 2024.

After the results of the Preliminary Selection Committee are available , the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts will notify the authors whose works are selected , and will print and send them to the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts for final round consideration .
