(NLDO) – The authorities have determined that the reflection that the "villa" in Ca Mau was built on rice-growing land but still existed for a long time is true.
Regarding the case of "villas" built on rice fields, on January 3, speaking with reporters, a leader of the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province said that Working Group 1117 had reported on the inspection and review of the content related to the reflection of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.
According to the above report, the content that the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper reflected is true to reality. The People's Committee of Khanh Binh Tay Commune, Tran Van Thoi District agreed to allow Mr. NVC (born in 1973; residing in Khanh Binh Tay Commune) to build a house and constructions on agricultural land, which is not in accordance with the law. The People's Committee of the Commune has not managed closely, so it has not promptly detected and handled the violation.

At the same time, the working group also recommended that the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district consider directing the People's Committee of Khanh Binh Tay commune to immediately inspect Mr. C's construction of works for sale and strictly handle it according to regulations. Propaganda and mobilize Mr. C to carry out procedures to change the purpose of use for the inner part of the land (the part that is suitable for the planning) to relocate the house according to the provisions of law...
As previously reported, many people reported that Mr. C's "villa" was built on land used for rice cultivation but still existed for a long time.
To clarify the information reflected by the people, the reporter had a direct exchange with the leaders of Khanh Binh Tay Commune People's Committee. Mr. Nguyen Canh Hanh, Chairman of Khanh Binh Tay Commune People's Committee, said that Mr. C's family had to move their house twice due to the impact of state projects. In order to create conditions for the people, the local authorities agreed to let Mr. C build a house on the land specializing in rice cultivation first and then carry out the conversion procedures.
"Mr. C. previously applied to build a house and the authorities were also subjective that they would be able to change the land use purpose so they approved. After that, due to planning problems, Mr. C.'s land has not been able to change its purpose according to regulations" - Mr. Hanh explained.
The reporter also raised the question of whether another construction project being built on this land belonged to Mr. C's relatives or not? "Mr. C's family had previously submitted a request to the local authorities to build an additional temporary house for relatives to buy and sell goods. The commune assigned the commune's staff to handle the request. When the commune realized that the family had built an "excessive" temporary house, it sent a force to remind the family, and the family pledged that when the government requested it, they would voluntarily dismantle it," Mr. Hanh informed.
