The entire 500 kV line circuit 3, Quang Trach - Pho Noi, is open to traffic.

The successful energization of the 500kV line project, circuit 3, Quang Trach - Quynh Luu, simultaneously opened the entire 500kV line from Quang Trach ( Quang Binh ) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen).

On the evening of August 27, 2024, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB) coordinated with relevant units to successfully energize the 500 kV transmission line project, circuit 3, Quang Trach - Quynh Luu, connecting the entire 500 kV line from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi ( Hung Yen ).

EVNNPT leaders witnessed the moment of energizing the Project at Thanh Hoa 500 kV Transformer Station.

The 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu transmission line project is 226 km long, passing through the provinces of Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An. The project has 463 pole foundation locations, of which 237 are on mountains, passing through many complex terrains with 197 corridor anchorages, of which 7 anchorages cross rivers and large lakes, and 15 anchorages cross national highways. The project was implemented from January 18, 2024 and was approved by the Investor Acceptance Council on August 24, 2024 and agreed to energize.

Once completed, the project will help reduce the load and avoid overloading of existing 500kV lines, ensuring the N-1 criteria, especially when the transmission capacity is high along the Central - North interface at a time when the Northern hydropower plants have low generation.

The line also helps to increase the stable transmission reserve on the Central - North interface, combined with the 500kV Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa - Nam Dinh I - Pho Noi lines as well as the completed circuit 3 lines from Pleiku 2 - Doc Soi - Quang Trach, contributing to supplementing capacity from power sources in the South Central region to the load center in the Northern region.

EVNNPT leaders witnessed the moment of energizing the Project at the 500 kV Quang Trach Transformer Station.

During the implementation process, the Project has always received the attention and direction of the Prime Minister, ministries, branches, and leaders of Vietnam Electricity Group. Along with that is the support of the authorities at all levels where the project passes through, the consensus and joint efforts of the people who have given up land for the project, and participated in supporting the construction of the foundation excavation phase.

According to EVNNPT leaders, in addition to favorable factors, during the implementation process, the Project encountered many difficulties and challenges in mobilizing machinery and equipment for simultaneous construction on the entire route; Difficult terrain of the route with many locations on high hills and mountains, difficult roads to the column foundation locations, especially difficult when it rains, the roads are steep, slippery, and the construction site is not favorable.

Unfavorable weather conditions include many days of rain, storms, thunderstorms, extreme heat, many days of strong winds lasting from 3 to 7 hours, and thunderstorms... so construction work had to be stopped at many times to ensure the safety of workers and construction equipment. Difficulties in mobilizing construction forces to erect poles and pull wires due to urgent construction progress, short implementation time, and simultaneous construction volume of poles and pull wires of large projects.

Along with that, the volume of steel columns is very large while the progress required in a short time, EVNNPT together with CPMB and contractors have made efforts to focus on production, implementing specific solutions to speed up production progress.

Implementing the Prime Minister's direction with the spirit of "only discussing work, not backtracking", "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, not losing to the storm", working "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", the engineers and workers of the units participating in the Project have worked with the highest spirit and responsibility to bring the Project to the finish line on time.

The 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu transmission line project has been completed and energized.

EVNNPT leaders said: to meet the progress requirements directed by the Prime Minister, in a short period of time, many work items were deployed simultaneously such as construction and installation, pole erection, wire pulling, positioning frame installation, and technical calibration.

Therefore, in addition to the main force of construction contractors, forces from EVNNPT and 5 Power Corporations have been mobilized to participate in construction support with a large number of qualified, experienced and skilled human resources.

With the importance of the Project, not only for EVNNPT, EVN's Power units and other units have shown high spirit and responsibility when participating in enthusiastic support, making efforts, not afraid of difficulties and hardships. Along with that, EVNNPT also received construction human resources support from the military, Viettel Group, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group... to participate in supporting pole erection and wire pulling for the Projects.

The completion and energization of the Project meeting the Prime Minister's direction is a great motivation for the entire construction site of the 500kV line 3 project to complete acceptance and inauguration in the coming days according to the Prime Minister's direction.

The 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu transmission line project is the last component project of the 500kV line circuit 3 project to be completed. Previously, EVNNPT completed the energization of the Thanh Hoa 500kV transformer station on June 28, 2024, the 500kV Nam Dinh 1 - Thanh Hoa transmission line project completed on June 30, 2024, the 500kV Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa transmission line project and the Nam Dinh 1 - Pho Noi transmission line project completed the energization on August 19, 2024.
