Goalkeeper Nguyen Filip played 60 minutes in a friendly match with the Kyrgyzstan team.

Naturalized goalkeeper Nguyen Filip had a good performance in his first match for the Vietnamese team against Kyrgyzstan on the evening of January 9.

Goalkeeper Nguyen Filip made his debut for the Vietnam national team in a friendly match against Kyrgyzstan. In this match, the Czech-born goalkeeper was placed on the field from the start by coach Troussier.

This is the match in which the French strategist created conditions for almost all the players he had to play.

On average, each player plays for about 25-30 minutes. Goalkeeper Nguyen Filip was tested for 60 minutes (double the amount of other players).

That shows that coach Troussier wants to test Nguyen Filip carefully to give him the number 1 position in the Vietnamese team's goal at the 2023 Asian Cup finals.

Nguyen Filip is a player of European class rarely seen in the Vietnamese national team. According to initial assessments, this goalkeeper has the ability to control space well and coordinate confidently with his teammates.

The first goal conceded by the Vietnamese team came in the 31st minute. Nguyen Filip made no mistake in this situation. The Vietnamese team's defense played loosely, allowing Joel Kojo to escape and face Nguyen Filip. The Kyrgyzstan player easily scored the opening goal.

In the second half, Coach Troussier let Nguyen Filip play for another 15 minutes, before taking him off the field to replace him with Dinh Trieu. After that, the Hai Phong FC goalkeeper conceded a goal in the 74th minute after Aizar Akmatov scored.

Because he has just joined the national team, Nguyen Filip still needs more time to adapt. However, this goalkeeper shows his determination to integrate into the team and find common ground with his teammates.

Nguyen Filip and his teammates have 4 days to prepare before the opening match of the 2023 Asian Cup against the Japanese team at 6:30 p.m. on January 14.
