Hacker group Anonymous Sudan has claimed to have "teamed up" with Skynet and Godzilla to take down Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Meta's Threads globally.

Writing on Telegram, the hacker group Anonymous Sudan asserted: "We, Skynet and Godzilla collaborated to attack the network, leading to the global collapse of Facebook."

Anonymous Sudan collaborated with Skynet and Godzilla to disrupt the Discord login page last December. The group has also been linked to several other incidents, including the OpenAI ChatGPT attack.

"Anonymous Sudan did not announce in advance that they would attack Facebook this time, as they usually do. Therefore, this group may be spreading hoax news. There is currently no evidence of the attack on the evening of March 5" - on its official website, cybersecurity company Cyberint wrote.

At around 10:30 pm on March 5, many people's Facebook and Instagram accounts were suddenly logged out when using them on both computers and phones.

Any attempt by the user to log back in is in vain as the browser keeps saying "the site is not available, the link is broken or deleted".

On Downdetector - a tool that specializes in monitoring the performance of Internet services, after only 10 minutes from about 10:30 p.m. on March 5, the number of error reports from users of Meta platforms jumped to nearly 400,000, including Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, Messenger and Threads; only WhatsApp was not affected.

Although the hacker group Anonymous Sudan has claimed responsibility, Mate has not yet publicly disclosed any reason why the company's social network has stopped working.
