On the morning of September 20 (local time), at the Headquarters of the Singapore Permanent Mission in New York, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet attended the 3G Ministerial Conference 2023 held on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

According to a VNA correspondent at the UN, the conference was chaired by the Singaporean Foreign Minister and attended by Ministers/Deputy Ministers of the three Troika G20 countries (Indonesia, India, Brazil) and representatives of 30 3G member countries. The conference highly appreciated the results India has achieved during its G20 Presidency year, especially linking the G20 agenda with UN priorities, demonstrating a stronger commitment to supporting the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and promoting an inclusive approach, reflecting the voices of developing countries in the South. Brazil - G20 Chair in 2024 - affirmed that it will inherit and develop the results of the G20 in the past time, especially continuing to prioritize the content of narrowing inequality in all specialized discussion channels of the G20. Representatives of 3G countries emphasized a number of cooperation priorities in the coming time: (i) Promoting the role of multilateralism and international solidarity, associated with reforming global governance mechanisms to be more equal and effective. (ii) Creating new driving forces to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on time. (iii) Promoting strategic cooperation contents such as science , technology, digital transformation and green transformation. Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet highly appreciated the results India has achieved during its G20 Presidency year, especially its engagement with the United Nations agenda in many important contents such as implementing the SDGs, responding to climate change, and ensuring a people-centered approach.The Deputy Minister proposed four focuses for 3G and G20 cooperation in the coming time. First, take advantage of new growth drivers such as digital economy, green economy, circular economy and energy transition. Second, focus on developing sustainable agriculture to ensure global food security. Third, continue to ensure inclusiveness in multilateral processes, promote the role of ASEAN and strengthen the connection of G20 agenda contents. Fourth, strengthen partnerships, especially in the fields of science, technology and innovation. We expressed our belief that Brazil will be successful in its G20 Presidency in 2024.
The conference adopted the Group's Press Statement, emphasizing enhanced cooperation to address growth challenges, towards sustainable and inclusive development. The 3G Group has continued to play its role as a channel to bring the voices of small, developing countries into the G20 agenda.
