Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Yunnan Provincial Party Secretary Wang Ning.

Appreciating the positive progress in cooperation between all levels and sectors of Vietnam and Yunnan province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Party and Government of Vietnam always attach importance to, care for, support and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese localities to strengthen cooperation with Chinese localities, including Yunnan province.

The Prime Minister suggested that Yunnan take the lead in implementing high-level common perceptions and joint statements, increase exchanges with Vietnamese localities; strive to increase Vietnam-Yunnan trade turnover to 5 billion USD, turn Yunnan and Lao Cai into a trade connection center between China and ASEAN; promote the pilot implementation of the smart border gate model; strengthen coordination in flood discharge regulation and natural disaster prevention; and create favorable conditions in procedures for Vietnamese citizens living in Yunnan.

The Prime Minister suggested that Yunnan take the lead in implementing high-level common perceptions and joint statements, and increase exchanges with Vietnamese localities.

Agreeing with the important opinions of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Wang Ning affirmed that Yunnan always attaches importance to the friendly and cooperative relationship with Vietnam; wishes to strengthen cooperation in the province's strong fields such as green energy, highland agriculture, and tourism. At the same time, promote economic, trade, border economic cooperation, promote cooperation in the fields of health, culture, and education, contributing to strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam.
