The average annual GRDP (2021-2023 period) increased quite well, estimated at 9.69%, ranking 5th in the country. In the first 9 months of 2023, GRDP growth reached 7.72%. The scale of GRDP (current price) in 2023 is estimated at 279,074 billion VND, 1.5 times higher than in 2020, ranking 8th in the country and the highest in the provinces of the North Central and Central Coast regions. The average GRDP per capita in 2023 is estimated at 3,144 USD, 1.42 times higher than in 2020.
The economic structure has shifted positively (the proportion of the industrial and construction sector accounts for 48.4%; services account for 31.8%; agriculture accounts for 13.8%).
The export value of goods in 2023 is estimated at 5.1 billion USD, 1.39 times higher than in 2020. In the period of 2021-2023, it is estimated to welcome 26.5 million tourists, an average increase of 17.8%/year; total tourism revenue is estimated at 49,266 billion VND, an average increase of 32.5%/year.
The socio-economic infrastructure has received investment attention. The province has started, inaugurated and put into operation many large-scale industrial facilities and many important traffic projects connecting mountainous districts with the midlands, contributing to strengthening the socio-economic infrastructure and promoting the effective exploitation of the province's strengths.
In the 2021-2023 period, 10,700 new enterprises were established, ranking 7th in the country. Up to now, the province has 143 valid FDI projects, with a total registered investment capital of 14.7 billion USD, ranking first in the North Central provinces and 8th in the country in attracting FDI.

State budget revenue has increased sharply, always exceeding estimates every year; total budget revenue for the 2021-2023 period is estimated at 132,418 billion VND, of which 51,173 billion VND in 2022 is the highest ever and ranks 9th in the country.
New rural construction is being focused on; it is estimated that by the end of 2023, 13 district-level units will meet standards and complete the task of new rural construction (reaching a rate of 48.15%).
There has been much progress in the cultural and social fields, and people's lives have been improved. The quality of education and training has been improved; high-performance sports have won many medals at domestic and international competitions. Social security policies have been fully and promptly implemented, especially policies to support workers and employers facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic; support people living on the river to build houses on the shore to stabilize their lives. The poverty rate in 2023 is estimated to be 3.79%, an average decrease of 1.5%/year.
In 2022, the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) ranked 3rd in the country, the Public Administration Reform Index (PAR INDEX) ranked 10th in the country, and the Satisfaction Index of People and Organizations with the Services of State Administrative Agencies (SIPAS) ranked 5th in the country.
National defense and security were strengthened; social order and safety were maintained and stabilized. Party building and the political system were strengthened, achieving positive results; the leadership capacity of Party committees and organizations, and the direction and administration of authorities at all levels were improved. The activities of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations continued to be innovated, becoming increasingly practical and effective.
