DNVN -FPT and the School of Information Technology (NUS Computing) of the National University of Singapore (NUS) have just signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), including the establishment of a modern research lab, investment in promoting innovation and training experts in the field of AI.
Under the memorandum of understanding, FPT, together with NUS and other businesses in the AI ecosystem of Singapore and the Asia -Pacific region, plans to mobilize an investment of US$50 million over the next five years for pioneering research and talent development activities in the field of AI.
This cooperation helps FPT promote the commercialization of AI solutions and improve research and development capacity, promote the development of high-quality AI human resources, contributing to enhancing the Group's competitive advantage in the Asia- Pacific region as well as globally.

One of the key activities of the cooperation agreement is that the two sides will coordinate to establish an AI research lab based on the research strengths of the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the technological capacity of FPT. This AI research lab will focus on researching and developing advanced technologies, including machine learning, data analysis, natural language processing and computer vision applications to solve practical problems in fields such as banking, insurance, logistics, transportation, aviation, energy, manufacturing, etc., contributing to promoting innovation in the field of AI in Vietnam, Singapore as well as the Asia-Pacific region.
At the same time, researchers and experts of this AI Research Lab will also publish joint research works and white papers in prestigious international journals and conferences, sharing new discoveries with the global academic and business community.
Seen as a key part of the NUS Computing ecosystem, this AI lab will be located on campus and work closely with the NUS Artificial Intelligence Institute (NAII) - a gathering place for experienced AI researchers and experts.
According to the cooperation agreement, FPT and NUS Computing will also seek opportunities to commercialize AI-integrated solutions, products, and services jointly researched and developed by both parties for the global market.
Another important content of the cooperation agreement is that the two sides will promote the training of high-quality AI human resources through programs such as internships, seminars, training and doctoral research, contributing significantly to keeping Vietnam and Singapore at the forefront of technological innovation.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh emphasized: “AI is considered one of the core technologies shaping the future of industries and fields. Over the past decade, FPT has actively pursued AI research and development to promote innovation and is integrating AI into all Made by FPT services and solutions. FPT has also invested heavily in training, ensuring the readiness of AI human resources. Cooperating with the prestigious National University of Singapore will help us harness the power of AI to promote the development and success of both parties not only in Singapore and Vietnam but also globally."

We look forward to bringing cutting-edge AI solutions to solve real-world challenges, while contributing to the AI ecosystem in Singapore and globally through the development of highly skilled AI human resources."
NUS is Singapore’s leading university, with 16 schools and faculties across three campuses in Singapore, and over 40,000 students from 100 countries. With a track record of half a century of AI research, the university has close ties with government agencies, Singaporean businesses and international partners in many AI projects. In 2024, NUS established the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, bringing together leading AI researchers and experts.
AI is considered one of the cutting-edge technologies, playing a core role in FPT's development strategy. The Group will continue to invest heavily and comprehensively in all aspects from people, infrastructure to databases, and research for this core technology sector. FPT will also bring AI into every corner of life and integrate this technology into all products and solutions in the Made by FPT ecosystem to bring benefits to end users. Recently, FPT has cooperated with NVIDIA to invest in building an AI factory with an expected investment of 200 million USD. Previously, to strengthen its capacity in the AI sector, FPT has cooperated with leading companies such as Landing AI, AIOMATIC and become a founding member of the AI Alliance initiated by IBM and Meta. FPT currently has an AI human resource of more than 1,500 engineers, along with additional resources from 1,300 FPT University students every year as well as from the AI Residency program in cooperation with the Mila Quebec AI Institute, to nurture young talents in the AI industry.
As one of FPT's key technologies, AI is expected to create a competitive difference for FPT to quickly complete the target of 5 billion USD in revenue from foreign markets and improve its position in the group of billion-dollar IT enterprises globally.
