In order to promote the reuse of waste rock and soil as construction materials, recently, many businesses in the province have surveyed mine waste dumps and invested in production lines to crush and screen waste rock and soil into roadbed materials and construction sand.
Realizing the growing demand for construction materials such as sand and stone, since 2019, Indevco Group Joint Stock Company has researched and cooperated with many domestic and foreign partners to learn and select technology for screening and crushing mine waste into construction materials.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, Project Development Department, Indevco Group Joint Stock Company said: In order to implement the project of producing materials from mine waste rock, in recent years, the Company has determined to seriously implement, conduct thorough research to build a suitable investment plan, ensuring environmental criteria and sustainable development of the province. The Company also constantly researches technology, conducts field surveys in many countries such as India, Malaysia, Thailand... to learn and choose a model suitable for production conditions in Vietnam. At the same time, cooperates with the world's leading corporations such as Terex (USA), Metso (Finland), CDE (Iceland) to select modern and efficient equipment lines to implement the project.
Clearly identifying that the production of materials from mine waste rock will be a long-term project for the locality, Indevco Group Joint Stock Company has paid special attention to ensuring benefits for the community and the surrounding environment. The entire production line is expected to be designed as a closed system to minimize dust and noise; sludge filtration technology helps recover up to 95% of water, ensuring no sludge or water is discharged into the environment; a tubular conveyor transport system is also selected to minimize the impact on the surrounding area...
Mr. Phan Tran Tuan, Director of Metso Vietnam Company said: We are a unit specializing in the field of crushing and screening. During the cooperation with Indevco Group Joint Stock Company, we have researched the market and evaluated the materials in Quang Ninh . Realizing the potential, we and the Company focused on researching, proposing crushing and screening solutions and choosing solutions to install suitable production lines. Our technological solutions, when implemented, will create sand, gravel, and other additives from mine waste rock materials, meeting Vietnamese standards and not causing environmental pollution.
The project's goal, when put into operation, will be to process approximately 3.6 million m3 of waste rock and soil each year to create 3 million m3 of construction materials including sand, rock and focus on environmental protection solutions around the project. However, currently, to promote project implementation, Indevco Group Joint Stock Company is still facing some difficulties in procedures and planning adjustments for implementation.
Mr. Do Tien Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Indevco Group Joint Stock Company said: Identifying this as a large, long-term project with systematic and large-scale investment, we pay special attention to legal factors as well as environmental protection issues. During the implementation process, we hope to continue to receive the attention of the province and departments and branches in adjusting the planning, as well as promptly removing existing difficulties and obstacles to soon put the project into operation. When implemented, the project will not only contribute to promoting the circular economy , but also be able to meet the province's growing demand for construction materials, solving the shortage of landfill materials, thereby serving the progress of many key projects.
Along with promoting the application of advanced technology in crushing and screening waste rock into construction materials, the province has recently directed functional sectors to select a public investment project for experimentation. The results of the project will become the basis for building technical standards, estimates and replicating the use of waste rock as construction materials in many other projects. This is not only a technical and economic solution, but also a specific step in implementing Resolution 68 of the Politburo on private economic development, Resolution 57 on Science - Technology, innovation and national digital transformation. At the same time, this is also an inevitable direction to promote the circular economy, turning materials that used to be an environmental "burden" into new resources for use.
