The management board of Son Tra peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches confirmed that staff only moved illegally parked motorbikes onto the sand to clear the sidewalk.

Previously, on the evening of September 21, a clip of more than 2 minutes long appeared on social networks, recording a scene of a management staff member moving 2 tourists' motorbikes that were locked and parked on the sidewalk down to the sand at Vo Nguyen Giap beach.

At the time of filming, a car tipped over but was later reassembled by management staff. In the clip, the person filming said that “security guards knocked over the car”, while beach staff explained that they “were clearing the sidewalk because motorbikes were blocking people’s walkways”.

According to the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, the incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on September 21 on the sidewalk east of Vo Nguyen Giap Street (My An beach).

During the patrol, the Tourism Order Management Team discovered a number of motorbikes parked on the sidewalk, in violation of regulations. This area has been arranged and installed with prohibition signs to inform residents and tourists.

Afterwards, the staff of the Tourist Order Management Team used loudspeakers to make announcements and asked the vehicle owners to move, but to no avail. To ensure space for the walkway during the tourist rush, the force was forced to move these vehicles onto the sand.

"During the move, due to the rough and soft sand, a motorbike tipped over and was later fixed by a security guard.

However, while the Team was performing its duties, a local resident filmed a clip and posted it on Facebook, causing a lot of conflicting information. In the clip, the staff clearly explained that this was an area where motorbikes were prohibited from parking," the unit informed.

This unit added that along the Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa coastal route, many parking lots have been arranged, and warning signs and no-parking signs have been installed on the sidewalks to ensure space for pedestrians.

However, there are still many cases of intentional violations, even locking the vehicle's steering wheel right on the sidewalk, causing difficulties for management.

This unit recommends that residents and tourists when coming to Da Nang beaches do not park on the sidewalk on the east side of Vo Nguyen Giap Street, but instead should park at parking lots or freshwater bathing areas along the beach to ensure safety, aesthetics and security and order.
