The constantly fluctuating world economy has created a lot of pressure on capital, market and production costs for the business community. In the spirit of "Developing businesses, strong local economy", Thai Nguyen Industry and Trade has implemented many timely support solutions, helping businesses overcome difficulties, while contributing to improving the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and consolidating the position of the industrial and commercial center of the Northern midland and mountainous region.

Contribute to improving PCI index

The business community is the vanguard force in socio -economic development, making an important contribution to growth, job creation and integration. Recognizing that role, the Thai Nguyen Industry and Trade sector has implemented many synchronous and practical solutions to both support business development and improve PCI component indicators, especially the "Business Support Policy".

Accordingly, the Industry and Trade sector always considers enterprises as the center of development, the key driving force to promote the socio-economic growth of the province. Therefore, all policies, consulting and implementation solutions are aimed at creating favorable conditions for enterprises to confidently invest, expand production, and contribute to the overall development.

A bright spot is the reform of administrative procedures. The Department of Industry and Trade has simplified the process and deployed online public services at levels 3-4, helping businesses save time, costs and limit direct contact.

The spirit of “standing side by side with enterprises” is demonstrated through concrete actions such as promptly removing difficulties, simplifying procedures towards transparency, applying information technology in processing documents. Thanks to that, the time for granting investment licenses and approving projects is shortened, opportunity costs are reduced, and investor satisfaction is increased.

Implementing the two-level local government model, on August 3, 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade held an online conference to disseminate and guide tasks for commune and ward levels. At the same time, it compiled and sent the "Industry and Trade Sector Handbook", reviewed and removed difficulties for investors and enterprises.

In 2025, the Industry and Trade sector will continue to make its mark with a series of creative and flexible trade promotion programs. In just 8 months, more than 450 enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments were supported; about 300 booths were designed and set up at fairs and exhibitions inside and outside the province. A typical example is the Thai Nguyen Industry and Trade Fair - OCOP 2025, with the participation of 30 provinces and cities, dozens of corporations and general companies, attracting over 60,000 visitors, with an estimated revenue of 18 billion VND.

Not only the domestic market, the Department of Industry and Trade also creates conditions for businesses to expand international connections. The highlight is the program to celebrate 20 years of cooperation between Thai Nguyen and Gyeongsangbuk-do (South Korea), through which many local businesses have approached new partners, expanding export opportunities.

The results achieved show the determination and creativity in business support policies, not only improving the PCI index but also affirming the image of a dynamic, open and investor-friendly Thai Nguyen.

In 2024, the province will achieve 68.13 PCI points, ranking among the 30 localities with the best governance quality in the country; in which the "Business support policy" index will reach 7.58 points, the highest among the component indexes. This is an important foundation for Thai Nguyen to make a breakthrough in the new period.

Many policies to support overcoming difficulties

In the digital age, e-commerce is considered a strategic direction. Thai Nguyen is the first locality in the country to cooperate with Shopee, opening the "Thai Nguyen Product Store" from the beginning of 2025. This is a breakthrough, helping agricultural products and local specialties reach millions of domestic and foreign customers.

In parallel, the Livestream program "OCOP Thai Nguyen Fair 2025" on the TikTok platform reached more than 40 million views and 2,500 successful orders, demonstrating the practical effectiveness of the policy to support businesses through digital transformation.

Many local enterprises have quickly seized the opportunity. A typical example is Bac Ha Pharmaceutical Technology Joint Stock Company with 3 national 5-star OCOP products, pioneering in participating in livestream programs to promote agricultural products. Recently, the unit participated in the program "Nuoc custard apple tree and Thai Nguyen agricultural products 2025 - Quintessence of Vietnam, connecting everywhere".

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, Deputy Director of the Company, said: This activity has opened a new customer access channel, bringing products to many localities and gradually to the international market.

In the energy sector, businesses also benefit from timely support policies.

Mr. Pham Kien, Deputy Director of Petrolimex Thai Nguyen Company Limited, shared: The Industry and Trade sector regularly organizes connection programs, provides market information and new policies. This is an opportunity for Petrolimex to grasp the direction, proactively plan business, and expand cooperation with partners inside and outside the province.

The Department of Industry and Trade is developing and implementing many plans to support businesses, from developing supporting industries, promoting industry to promoting investment in industrial clusters.

Notably, the consultation on the issuance of the Resolution on spending levels for industrial promotion activities after the province's merger and the Supporting Industry Development Program until 2025 has created opportunities for rural industrial establishments to innovate technology and participate more deeply in the value chain.

A highlight of the support policy is the “three-pronged” orientation: improving service quality, promoting digital transformation in industry and trade, and promoting trade promotion to expand markets. This activity not only helps businesses overcome immediate difficulties but also builds a foundation for sustainable development.

The Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the University of Information Technology and Communications to organize a training course on e-commerce for professional staff of communes and wards; enterprises and cooperatives in the province.

In terms of strategic vision, the Ministry of Industry and Trade aims to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue more preferential policies for industrial cluster development, especially in disadvantaged areas. This will be a lever to attract investment, expand production, and at the same time support businesses in accessing capital sources, enterprise development funds, and land development funds. Timely and specific policies will increase the attractiveness of Thai Nguyen on the industrial investment map.

In parallel with creating a legal corridor, the Department of Industry and Trade also focuses on policy communication, providing information on international economic integration, FTA agreements and export market developments. This is an important factor to help businesses promptly grasp and build appropriate business strategies.

In the coming period, the Thai Nguyen Industry and Trade Department affirms to continue accompanying enterprises with the motto "Developing enterprises is developing the province". The focus will be on promoting green transformation, digital transformation, improving productivity and product quality, and organizing many forums and connecting seminars to facilitate the flow of investment and trade.

In the coming time, we will prioritize attracting high-tech projects, supporting industries, and green industries; advising on the development of a high-tech industry development project for the period 2026-2030; at the same time, promoting investment, selecting projects with spillover effects, contributing to improving competitiveness and international integration.
