According to initial information, at 7:30 p.m. last night, June 3, fishing boat BTh 97155 TS with a capacity of 748 CV, including 9 workers working as squid net fishermen, captained and owner of the boat by Mr. Van Thanh Sy (34 years old, residing in Long Hai commune, Phu Quy district, Binh Thuan ), was working in an area only 3 nautical miles southwest of Phu Quy island.

Rescue ship of Binh Thuan Border Guard is searching for missing fisherman this afternoon, June 4.

At this time, big waves and strong winds sank the fishing boat. When the accident happened, 8 crew members escaped from the sunken ship and swam to shore. However, crew member Tran Van Truong (from Long Hai commune, Phu Quy district) is still missing.

The area where the fishing boat sank is only about 3 nautical miles from Phu Quy Island.

Immediately after receiving the news, Binh Thuan Border Guard and Coastal Information Station notified fishing boats in the area to search for the missing person.

As of noon today, June 4, the rescue ship of the Binh Thuan Border Guard is still actively searching for fisherman Tran Van Truong but has not had any results.
