Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee directed an investigation into the broken machine case, but 255 lithotripsy cases were still accounted for.

On September 19, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province issued a press release on a number of violations in medical examination and treatment activities at the Department of Nephrology and Urology, Central Highlands General Hospital.

Mr. Nay Phi La, Director of Dak Lak Province Department of Health, informed about the case of a broken laser lithotripsy machine still treating patients.

Accordingly, from July 22, a working delegation of the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health inspected and evaluated the professional activities of the Central Highlands General Hospital.

Through inspection, the working group discovered that the laser lithotripsy machine had been broken since the end of 2023, but 255 laser lithotripsy cases were recorded incorrectly.

Based on the conclusion of the inspection team, the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health directed the Central Highlands General Hospital to correct existing shortcomings and violations and review and clarify the responsibilities of related organizations and individuals.

On August 20, the Disciplinary Council of the Central Highlands General Hospital met, reviewed and initially decided to discipline 3 doctors and 1 nurse related to the incident.

Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health and Central Highlands General Hospital have provided records and documents to Dak Lak Provincial Police for investigation according to the provisions of law.

The Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee to inspect when there are signs of violations against the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Highlands General Hospital. At the same time, the Dak Lak Provincial Police Party Committee was assigned to direct the continued investigation and handling of the case to ensure strictness, no forbidden areas, no exceptions and in accordance with the provisions of the law.
