Organizing a legal communication conference on legal aid in Phan Ngoc Hien commune, Ca Mau province

On September 17, 2025, the State Legal Aid Center of Ca Mau province coordinated with the People's Committee of Phan Ngoc Hien commune, Ca Mau province to organize a legal communication conference on legal aid for people in the commune.

Attending the Conference were Ms. Thai Thi Duyen , Deputy Head of Administration - General Department, Legal Assistant of the State Legal Aid Center of Ca Mau province; Mr. Tiet Minh Khoi , Vice Chairman of Phan Ngoc Hien Commune People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ngan , Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phan Ngoc Hien Commune; Lawyer Lam Van Gil , member of Ca Mau Provincial Bar Association, and 37 people from hamlets in the commune.

At the Conference, Ms. Thai Thi Duyen gave an overview of the 2017 Law on Legal Aid and its guiding documents such as: Types of people eligible for legal aid; rights and obligations of people eligible for legal aid; forms and areas of legal aid; procedures for requesting legal aid, etc. In addition, Ms. Duyen directly provided legal advice to 02 cases eligible for legal aid, who were people with revolutionary contributions and had legal problems right at the conference, and distributed nearly 200 legal brochures for people to study and learn more.

The conference received the attention and positive response of the people. Through the communication session, people were provided with basic legal knowledge and access to free legal services - a policy of our Party and State.

Legal communication activities on legal aid are considered practical and effective, meeting the need for access to legal information of the people, especially the vulnerable. Not only helping people improve their understanding of the law, protect their own rights and legitimate interests, this activity also contributes to reducing disputes, complicated complaints, and maintaining security and order in the locality. In particular, the integration of direct consultation and answers to legal problems right at the conference has created trust, satisfaction and connection between people and the State Legal Aid Center.

Legal communication activities on legal aid are one of the regular tasks of the State Legal Aid Center, contributing to the implementation of the Party and State's policy on ensuring the right to legal aid for people, especially the poor and vulnerable in society, towards building a fair, democratic and civilized society.
