General Secretary and President of China leaves Hanoi, ending visit to Vietnam

On the afternoon of April 15, at Noi Bai airport, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presided over the farewell ceremony for General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and the high-ranking Chinese delegation after successfully concluding their State visit to Vietnam.

This State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping is an important foreign political event of the two Parties and two countries, with strategic significance and long-term impact on the development of Vietnam-China relations in the context of the two countries entering a new era, a new era of development.

This is Mr. Xi Jinping's fourth visit to Vietnam as the highest leader of the Party and State of China and the second visit during the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Notably, the visit took place during the "Year of Humanitarian Exchange", commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (1950-2025).

During the visit, the General Secretary and President of China held talks and meetings with all senior leaders of Vietnam.

At the talks with General Secretary To Lam, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping affirmed that China persists in its policy of friendship with Vietnam, always considers Vietnam a priority direction in its neighborly foreign policy, and always supports Vietnam's prosperous development and people's happiness.

Regarding the direction for developing relations between the two Parties and two countries in the coming time, the two sides agreed to maintain regular high-level exchanges and upgrade the Strategic Dialogue mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, National Defense and Public Security to the Ministerial level.

At the same time, the two sides will strengthen substantive cooperation in various fields, establish a Railway Cooperation Committee between the two Governments to promote railway cooperation, well organize the activities of the "China-Vietnam Year of Humanitarian Exchange 2025", and consolidate the social foundation.

The two sides agreed to control and properly resolve disagreements and coordinate more closely multilaterally.

Xi Jinping suggested that the two sides persistently deepen strategic trust, deepen exchanges of experience in governing the country, enrich socialist theory and practice, and firmly promote the socialist cause of the two countries.

Discussing cooperation at multilateral forums, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping hopes that the two sides will strengthen judicial cooperation and law enforcement within the framework of Mekong-Lancang cooperation.

The two sides' senior leaders agreed to direct all sectors and levels to actively seek effective methods and measures to satisfactorily resolve disagreements and promote cooperation in line with the new level of Vietnam-China relations on the basis of international law.

In addition, the two countries' leaders also agreed to strictly comply with the consensus between ASEAN and China in implementing the DOC and promoting the achievement of a substantive and effective COC in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
