On the afternoon of October 2, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Women's Union solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate its 95th anniversary, receive the First Class Labor Medal, organize the 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress, and present the Vietnam Women's Award 2025.

General Secretary To Lam attended, awarded the First Class Labor Medal to the Vietnam Women's Union and delivered a speech at the ceremony.

General Secretary To Lam mentioned the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women, from Hai Ba Trung and Ba Trieu, famous in history, to generations of women in the Ho Chi Minh era "Heroic - Indomitable - Loyal - Responsible" , Vietnamese women have always been the mainstay of the family, the solid rear, the brave frontline, the nucleus of solidarity and humanity in the community.

The General Secretary affirmed that the Party and State have always consistently advocated promoting substantive gender equality, expanding opportunities for women to participate in leadership, administration, start-ups, science and technology; perfecting the social security policy system, protecting women and children; taking care of preschool education, maternity, reproductive health; and building a healthy and safe cultural environment.

However, the policy will only truly come into life when there is a mass movement, creative approaches, concrete, measurable and replicable results. That is the mission of the Vietnam Women's Union in the new era.

In order for the Vietnam Women's Union to fulfill this mission well, the General Secretary proposed and suggested 10 key orientations and tasks.

Firstly, building Vietnamese women of the new era: Patriotic - Independent - Courageous - Compassionate - Intelligent - Creative - Responsible - Destined - Green.

Second, upgrade the movement "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's" to "5 no's, 3 clean's, 3 safe's": safety - peace of mind - social security.

Third, breakthrough digital transformation in the Association and for members.

Fourth, promoting women's economics: from sustainable livelihoods to women-owned enterprises.

Fifth, take care of preschool education, nutrition, and early child development, considering these as strategic priorities to improve labor productivity and population quality.

Sixth, protect women and children from gender-based violence, human trafficking, and high-tech crime.

Seventh, discover - nurture - use female cadres; increase the proportion of women participating in leadership and management at all levels, especially at the grassroots level.

Eighth , build a safe, healthy, and culturally rich environment. According to the General Secretary, women are conductors and cultural ambassadors.

Ninth, strengthen people-to-people diplomacy and international integration.

Tenth, strongly innovate the Association's operating methods, aiming to promote a culture of respecting women.

15 collectives and individuals received the Vietnam Women's Award 2025

On this occasion, the Vietnam Women's Union awarded the 2025 Vietnam Women's Award to 3 collectives and 12 outstanding individuals, including many collectives and individuals in the fields of medicine, national defense and security.

Among the 12 individuals receiving awards this year is Lieutenant Colonel Le Thi Hang - "rocket girl". She has just been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.

The Vietnam Women's Union also awarded certificates of merit to 81 collectives and 255 individuals nationwide who have performed well in the Patriotic Emulation Movement for the 2021-2025 period.
