This afternoon, June 10, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Party Committee held a conference to review 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 689-NQ/QUTW dated October 10, 2014 of the Central Military Commission on preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, catastrophes, and search and rescue until 2020 and the following years. After 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 689 of the Central Military Commission, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the Military Region 4 Command, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee; the Provincial Party Committee and Military Command have thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented the directives and resolutions of the Party, the State, the National Committee for Search and Rescue, the Central and Provincial Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control; closely coordinated with localities, units, leaders and directed the provincial armed forces to well perform the tasks of preventing, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, search and rescue, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Leaders of agencies and units strictly maintain 24/24 duty regime from the province to the grassroots; proactively identify, evaluate, adjust and supplement plans and solutions to respond to natural disasters and search and rescue incidents in line with local realities. Prepare well forces and means and advise on effective implementation of the mobilization of forces and means of military units, organizations, individuals and people to participate in the community in disaster prevention and control...

At the conference, delegates discussed and pointed out limitations and causes, drew lessons and proposed many effective measures for the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Colonel Ngo Nam Cuong, Deputy Commander of Military Region 4, praised the results in the work of preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in recent years. At the same time, he requested the Provincial Military Command to continue to do a good job of propaganda and education , proactively and synchronously deploy groups of solutions to implement Resolution No. 689 of the Central Military Commission.

Actively coordinate and cooperate closely among local forces, effectively implement the "4 on-the-spot" motto. Actively improve the quality of training, drills, and civil defense exercises; forest fire prevention, flood and storm prevention, and search and rescue exercises in line with practical situations, functions, and tasks.

On this occasion, the Provincial Military Command awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 12 individuals with good achievements in 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 689 of the Central Military Commission.
