Toyota recalls Veloz Cross, Avanza Premio and Yaris Cross in Vietnam

Recall program "Tighten front shock absorber nuts on Veloz, Avanza, Yaris Cross models"

The front shock absorbers of the affected vehicles may have a design problem, the tightening force of the shock absorber nut may be insufficient. During the use of the vehicle, the shock absorber nut may loosen, causing abnormal noise.

In the worst case, the front shock absorbers of affected vehicles may fall off, causing the vehicle to be unstable during use. Toyota also issued a notice to customers who have affected vehicles to bring them in for inspection. Based on the inspection results, the customer's vehicle will have the shock absorber nuts tightened. The estimated inspection and repair/replacement time is approximately 0.5 to 2.5 hours per vehicle.

The recall program "Tighten the front shock absorber nuts on Veloz, Avanza, Yaris Cross models" was officially implemented by Toyota Vietnam from January 19, 2024 at all Toyota dealers nationwide.

Program "Replace front brake caliper dust cover on imported Veloz, Avanza and Raize models"

Customers with affected vehicles will receive notification from Toyota dealers to bring their vehicles in for inspection. Based on the inspection results, the customer's vehicle will have the brake caliper/brake caliper dust cover replaced. The estimated inspection and repair/replacement time is approximately 1.3 to 2.4 hours/vehicle.

The front brake caliper slider pin is equipped with a dust cover to prevent dust and water from entering. During the assembly of the front brake caliper assembly, the assembly tool may rub against the slider pin dust cover, causing damage to the dust cover. If water enters the dust cover and causes rust, the brake pads may wear out prematurely.

Toyota Vietnam recommends that customers who own vehicles affected by the above two programs quickly bring their vehicles to Toyota Dealers nationwide for inspection and replacement, completely free of charge. To save waiting time, customers can proactively contact Toyota Dealers to make an appointment before bringing their vehicles in for inspection.

All of the above vehicles will be received and repaired free of charge by Toyota authorized dealers. The recall program starts from January 19th until the repair is completed.

For non-genuine imported Toyota vehicles affected by these two programs, upon receiving a request from the vehicle owner, TMV will check the detailed information. After the problem is confirmed and approved, Toyota Dealers will conduct a free inspection and replacement for the customer.
