On the morning of September 6, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Cuban Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts held the inauguration ceremony of the mural project promoting the friendship between the people of Vietnam and Cuba.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (1960-2025) and the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Mr. Victor Gaute Lospez, Vice President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), is on a working trip to Ho Chi Minh City and representatives of several consulates in Ho Chi Minh City attended the inauguration ceremony.
The mural promoting Vietnam-Cuba friendship was created by lecturers and students of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts on the wall of the Cuban Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City with an area of nearly 50 square meters.
The painting has vivid colors and bright images, honoring the friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba.
The two solemn national flags of Vietnam and Cuba are located in the center of the painting, along with typical images of each country such as bamboo, lotus, sugarcane, etc., vividly depicted, harmoniously combining to promote the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba that has always existed, overcoming all challenges and difficulties of history.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, emphasized that the mural promoting Vietnam-Cuba friendship is not only a work of art but also a vivid expression of the tradition of friendship, sincere feelings, attachment, companionship and sharing between the two parties, two states and people of Vietnam and Cuba.
According to Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, the painting is a story in images and colors about the special Vietnam-Cuba relationship, a strong message about generational continuity, friendship that is constantly nurtured and developed.
This work of art is also a testament to the pure international solidarity that President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro have worked hard to cultivate, which has now truly permeated each generation, expressed in a rich and creative way.
Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrda, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the propaganda poster project on Vietnam-Cuba people-to-people friendship represents the political and cultural relationship between the two countries and is a message of friendship between the Cuban and Vietnamese people.
The painting inauguration event was held to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the special and unique friendship between the Parties, Governments and peoples of Cuba and Vietnam, and the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the Declaration of Independence of Vietnam.
According to the Cuban Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, the images in the painting such as lotus flowers, sugarcane, One Pillar Pagoda, Ha Long Bay and Revolution Square, Vinales Valley of Cuba... reflect the close relationship between the two countries beyond the political scope; affirming that despite the geographical distance, the two countries are connected by cultural, historical, geographical and many other relationships.
This propaganda mural will contribute to raising awareness among new generations of Cubans and Vietnamese about the culture and history of the two peoples./.
