Ho Chi Minh City: Export processing zones and industrial parks attract nearly 334 million USD in investment

Accordingly, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the total investment capital attracted in the city's export processing zones and industrial parks reached 333.89 million USD, reaching 55.65% of the 2025 plan, up 22.56% over the same period.

Specifically, regarding foreign investment, the total attracted investment capital reached 52.49 million USD. Of which, 15 new projects were granted with registered investment capital of 31.56 million USD, an increase of 220.41% over the same period; 13 projects adjusted capital with an increased adjusted capital of 20.93 million USD...

Regarding domestic investment, the total attracted investment capital reached 6,867.6 billion VND, 3.9 times higher than the same period. Of which, 31 new projects were granted with registered investment capital of 2,182.20 billion VND, 3.6 times higher than the same period; 19 adjusted projects, with adjusted capital increasing by 4,685.40 billion VND, 4 times higher than the same period...

Export turnover from the beginning of 2025 to present of export processing zones and industrial parks is estimated at 5.64 billion USD, up 17% over the same period in 2024; disbursement of investment capital in 6 months reached 405 million USD. The total number of workers in export processing zones and industrial parks is 257,700.

Also according to the representative of the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City, regarding the rearrangement of administrative units, the Board has proactively worked with the Management Board of Binh Duong Industrial Parks and the Management Board of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Industrial Parks to agree on a plan to receive and handle administrative procedures for businesses in the area, without interruption, ensuring continuity and smoothness.

The Management Board of the city's export processing and industrial zones proposed a number of contents related to difficulties and obstacles in the city's export processing zones and industrial zones after the merger of provinces and cities and the operation of the two-level government in the city.

These are problems related to: Planning and construction of level 3 and level 4 works in export processing zones and industrial parks in the city; piloting the Project on model conversion of export processing zones and industrial parks; implementation of legal procedures on the environment; regulations on collection levels, collection regimes, fees for appraisal of environmental impact assessment reports and plans for environmental improvement and restoration. In addition, there are problems related to changes in the structure of workers in industrial parks; problems in resettlement areas and housing for workers; compensation for site clearance for industrial parks...
