According to records, a stretch of coastline hundreds of meters long in Tan Thanh block (Hoi An Tay ward) was devastated by waves, creating a deep frog jaw, causing concern for local residents and authorities.
In the coastal area parallel to Nguyen Phan Vinh Street, landslides have eaten deep inside, creating vertical cliffs, with some points 4-5m high, adjacent to people's business areas.
To protect the beach, local people and authorities have deployed many temporary rescue solutions using bamboo poles, sandbags, and coconut fiber mats. However, the temporary embankment works have not been effective, and have even been severely damaged by big waves and strong winds.
According to local residents, the recent heavy rains have washed away a large amount of sand, leading to an unusual and faster erosion than in previous years. Without long-term measures to protect the area, erosion and landslides will become more serious during the rainy and stormy season.

Mr. Phung Tan Luc (resident of Tan Thanh block) said that the landslide has been happening for many years. However, recently, the landslides have started to eat deeper into the mainland, making businesses along the coast restless.
"Although it has been temporarily reinforced with bamboo poles and sandbags, the landslides still occur and are getting more serious. There are sections of the wave that have penetrated 4-8 meters into the mainland, only a few steps away from our restaurant. We hope the government will have a solution to respond, so that people can feel secure in doing business and ensure the safety of tourists ," said Mr. Phung Tan Luc.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Bui Van Dung, Chairman of Hoi An Tay Ward People's Committee, said that regarding the above issue, Hoi An Tay Ward has sent a report to Da Nang City People's Committee and the Department of Agriculture and Environment for timely handling.
In addition, the Ward People's Committee also directed agencies and units to propagate and remind households and businesses in the Tan Thanh block area to ensure safety for tourists and not let tourists approach the landslide area.
At the same time, organize barriers and stretch warning ropes at dangerous locations, regularly monitor landslide developments to promptly deploy response measures, such as mobilizing forces to reinforce or evacuate people when the situation is complicated.
