Chromebook Go brings many practical values ​​in education

Chromebooks have emerged as a force when accounting for more than 3% of total computer devices worldwide, higher than Linux and less than 1% compared to MacOS. In Vietnam, Samsung has just cooperated with Google to bring the Chromebook Go computer line to Vietnam after being successfully tested at the Experimental and VinSchool school systems.

Beautiful design, durable and reasonable cost

When hearing about Chromebook, many customers will imagine thick, heavy devices to save costs as much as possible, but that is not true with the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go. The 14" version used in the article is only 15.9mm thick and weighs less than 1.5kg, the dimensions of a high-end product. If you choose the 11.6" version, the weight of the device is only 1.15kg, an impressive number for super high-end laptops for businesses.

The Galaxy Chromebook Go's versatility in size is also a strong point. While most other manufacturers usually only focus on devices with screens under 12 inches, Samsung offers a 14-inch option while still maintaining the most compact size possible.

Not to mention that both Chromebook Go have undergone MIL-STD-810G military standard durability tests to ensure their ability to operate in a variety of environmental conditions: strong vibrations, drops, low pressure, sudden temperature changes, high humidity and especially the keyboard can be water-resistant, minimizing damage when students spill water on the device. These are all very important features of an educational product, not interrupting students' learning no matter what happens.

Stable performance with battery life up to 12 hours

Instead of using HDD hard drive like cheap Windows computers, Samsung Chromebook Go uses solid-state storage with shock resistance and helps the machine run smoother. In a quick test, the machine achieved more than 500 points in single-core and more than 1000 points in multi-core Geekbench, ensuring smooth operation with office applications that we still use every day.

As a product running on ChromeOS, Chromebook Go can run both Android applications and especially web applications, and is fully managed and controlled by the school, so parents can be completely assured throughout their children's learning process.

In terms of battery life, Samsung claims the device can last 12 hours before needing to be recharged via the USB C port. In actual testing, the device can watch movies and browse the web for more than 10 hours continuously, more than enough to not interrupt children's learning. In addition, we can also fully charge the Galaxy Book Go battery within 2 hours via a standard USB C charger.

Ability to sync and integrate with other Samsung products

As a Samsung product with a strong ecosystem, Galaxy Chromebook Go supports the manufacturer's platforms very well. If using an Android phone, we can unlock the computer with the phone, or use Phone Hub for wireless management, directly take pictures taken with the phone to the computer for easy use.

Not stopping there, these devices all project onto Android TV screens or Samsung TVs via wireless connection, so that the whole class can share and discuss together... Perhaps because of this feature, Samsung has equipped the device with Wi-Fi 6, 3 times faster than Wi-Fi ac on other Chromebook devices.

Another great feature is Nearby Share, which allows administrators to quickly share files with students. Teachers can also use it to send assignments directly to each student's device, increasing interaction and convenience during use.

Samsung's Chromebook Go computers in Vietnam will apply the free Google Workspace for Education (GWFE) platform, with more than 24 digital tools to make learning, management easier and more creative. GWFE will also have AI-based English reading apps and free STEM programs to help children develop their talents.

Chromebook Go is suitable for students

When applying GWFE, both schools and parents can manage students' devices, personalizing them for each person. Thereby, they can manage time, block sensitive search content and ensure device security. Samsung and its partners have introduced and trained GWFE to more than 15,000 teachers in Vietnam with the goal of reaching more than 1,000 more schools in 2023. Samsung is expected to continue deploying GWFE in more than 10 more provinces and cities, helping to train an additional 20,000 teachers in Vietnam.
