Tran Thanh Trung has 'caught the wave' of Le Viktor, the long-awaited moment of U.23 Vietnam

Because they joined the U.23 Vietnam team as overseas Vietnamese players, and grew up in European football environments, both Le Viktor and Tran Thanh Trung quickly "caught the wave" and exchanged experiences and expertise at the national team level. Le Viktor's experience of training with the U.23 Vietnam team three times before will be something that Tran Thanh Trung needs to learn from, as an overseas Vietnamese player who has just joined the national youth team.

Speaking of Tran Thanh Trung, today marks exactly 1 month since he left Bulgaria to return to Vietnam to compete. The Vietnamese-American midfielder born in 2005 was called up by coach Kim Sang-sik to join the U.23 Vietnam team to participate in the 2026 U.23 Asian qualifiers. Before joining the team, Tran Thanh Trung asked FIFA to change the national federation to compete, thereby wholeheartedly dedicating himself to the "Golden Star Warriors".

On the morning of August 29, before joining the U.23 Vietnam team, Tran Thanh Trung was taken to the cinema by his adoptive mother to watch the movie "Red Rain". Through the footage reflecting a period of the nation's history, the 20-year-old player became even more appreciative and proud of the Vietnamese blood flowing through his veins.

"I am very happy to be called up to the Vietnam U.23 team. Although I have only been back for a month, coach Kim Sang-sik has given me the opportunity. It is both luck and responsibility that I feel. I will definitely try to find opportunities and do my best for the Vietnamese flag," Thanh Trung confided.

"This is the first time I have worked with Coach Kim Sang Sik. We have not had much opportunity to talk on the first day of the meeting. But in the next 10 days, through the process of living and training, I hope I can exchange and understand more about Coach Kim Sang-sik.

My parents were really proud when they knew I was in the U.23 Vietnam team. I myself also felt proud of that. This is a new start in Tran Thanh Trung's career. And I will try my best for the U.23 Vietnam team, as well as make the fans of my country proud of me," Tran Thanh Trung determined.
