On May 12 in Hanoi , the Central Council of the Young Pioneers organized a program to celebrate the 83rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team (May 15, 1941 - May 15, 2024) and awarded the Kim Dong prize for the 2023 - 2024 school year.
At the program, Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers - reviewed the glorious tradition of the Young Pioneers over the past 83 years.
From 5 members in the early days, the Team has now had strong and steady development steps with more than 15.9 million members, teenagers and children, and nearly 25,000 teachers as Team leaders.
Inheriting and continuing the traditional movements of the Team organization such as Small Plan , Thousand Good Deeds , Tran Quoc Toan work, Silk Ao Dai for Grandma ... the Team's movements, campaigns and programs are increasingly deployed widely with many rich contents and forms of activities.
Notable examples include the movement "Vietnamese children compete to follow Uncle Ho's Five Teachings", the campaign "For beloved juniors", the program "Lighting up the dreams of Vietnamese children", "Every week a beautiful story, a good book, a shining example"...
Ms. Trang said that from the movements and campaigns of the Young Pioneers organization, many exemplary young people and children, and Young Pioneer groups with many outstanding achievements have emerged. Among them, 125 outstanding Young Pioneers leaders and Young Pioneers received the Kim Dong award for the 2023-2024 school year.
"You are shining examples of efforts to excel in studying and training, enthusiastically participating in the Youth Union and children's movements, actively participating in cultural, artistic, and sports activities, winning many national and international awards, always sharing love and helping friends in difficult circumstances," said Ms. Trang.
On behalf of the Central Youth Union Secretariat and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, Ms. Trang requested that all levels of the Youth Union, Young Pioneers, parents and teachers join hands and promote the sense of responsibility to do a good job of protecting, caring for and educating teenagers and children, creating an environment and conditions for them to play, study, entertain and develop comprehensively.
