Accordingly, the Department of Health will coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to standardize medical examination and screening forms, and provide guidance on medical examination procedures at schools. This includes developing software to enter student health examination results and organizing training for medical staff participating in the examination team.
From the 2024-2025 school year, health facilities conducting health checks at schools must use the health check form provided by the Department of Health and record the results in the community health management system. To ensure accuracy and efficiency, all health workers participating in the checks must complete online training courses organized by the department.
Specifically, in October 2024, the Department of Health will organize 3 training courses on student health examination. Participating in the training are lecturers from leading specialized hospitals such as Children 1, Dentistry, Eyes, Ear, Nose and Throat, Mental Health, Orthopedics, City Center for Disease Control and the Department of Medical Affairs and Information Technology of the Department of Health. The training content will include 09 topics related to the assessment and screening of school diseases, how to access and use new examination forms and how to use online software to manage student health.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, one of the biggest challenges is ensuring the security and privacy of student health data. To address this issue, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has been developing strict security procedures and standards, and investing in advanced information technology systems.
The first step in the implementation process is to standardize health examination forms and procedures. The Department of Health has worked closely with the Department of Education and Training to develop standard forms for school health examination and screening. These forms are designed to cover all aspects of student health, from physical to mental. They include indicators of height, weight, vision, hearing, as well as assessments of dental status, nutrition and mental health.
With a digitalized and centrally managed health data system, doctors and medical staff can easily access and track each student's health history. This allows them to detect potential health problems early and take timely interventions.
In addition, digital data also helps create a comprehensive picture of each student's health, including physical and mental health. This allows professionals to create personalized health care plans for each student, ensuring that each student receives the care most appropriate to their health condition.
