This high-speed railway line connects Fangcheng Port City and Dongxing City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, South China, with a total length of nearly 47 km, and a designed speed of 200 km/h. The infrastructure under construction is prepared to increase the speed to 250 km/h in the future.

This is the first railway line to Dongxing, the only border city connecting China with Vietnam by both sea and road. Once completed, the railway will cut the travel time between Fangcheng Port City and Dongxing City from 60 minutes to about 20 minutes and connect Dongxing to China's 42,000 km high-speed rail network.

After the border city of Dongxing connects with China's high-speed rail network, the distance between the country's high-speed rail and Vietnam's Van Don-Mong Cai Expressway will be shortened to 5 km, making travel between the Gulf of Tonkin Economic Zone and China's Greater Bay Area with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) market easier and faster.

Dongxing lies on the China-Vietnam border. Therefore, this high-speed rail transport route is expected to promote trade and exchanges between China and Southeast Asian (ASEAN) countries. When the border city of Dongxing is connected to China's high-speed rail network, the distance between the country's high-speed rail and Vietnam's Van Don-Mong Cai Expressway will be shortened to 5 km, making travel between the Gulf of Tonkin Economic Zone as well as China's Greater Bay Area and the ASEAN market easier and faster.

Thereby, actively contributing to promoting economic and trade exchanges between Vietnam and China./.
