Exchanges strengthen Vietnam-China friendship

On the evening of September 25 in Ho Chi Minh City, the City Union of Friendship Organizations held a meeting to celebrate the 76th anniversary of China's National Day (October 1, 1949 - October 1, 2025).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Khang Chien, Vice President of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, shared: Vietnam and China are "mountains connected, rivers connected", good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, good partners. The bilateral relationship between the two countries, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong, and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, has been developing increasingly strongly and is a precious common asset of the people of both sides.

The leader of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City said that, on the basis of the good relationship between the two countries, in the city, in recent years, Vietnam-China economic , trade and investment cooperation has maintained strong growth momentum.

China currently ranks 16th among countries and territories investing in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2024, the total trade turnover between the City and China will reach 24.4 billion USD; in the first 6 months of 2025 alone, it will reach 11.78 billion USD. Along with that, people-to-people exchange and economic cooperation activities take place regularly and diversely in many fields and industries.

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - China Friendship Association have coordinated with the Chinese Consulate General in the City to organize many people-to-people exchange activities in the fields of culture, education , sports, etc., contributing to strengthening and developing the friendly relations between the two countries in general, as well as between Ho Chi Minh City and Chinese localities in particular.

Thanking the City Union of Friendship Organizations for organizing the celebration of a great day for the Chinese people, Mr. Duong Lap, Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, said that under the leadership of senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam has been continuously deepened and achieved many positive results.

According to Mr. Duong Lap, in recent times, the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City and the Chinese Consulate General have closely coordinated, together preserving and promoting the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam in the Southern region. Many people-to-people exchange activities such as delegation exchanges and organizing seminars on the history of the struggle for national independence have been carried out, contributing to fostering the good friendship between the people of the two countries.

Appreciating and thanking the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-China Friendship Association for their important contributions to the development of bilateral relations, Mr. Duong Lap affirmed that he will continue to closely coordinate with the Union in implementing people-to-people diplomacy activities to enhance understanding, consolidate trust, promote exchanges and connections, thereby continuously cultivating the China-Vietnam friendship.
