On September 25, at the Government Office, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Comrade Lam Vu, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Shandong Province, China, on the occasion of Comrade Lam Vu's visit and work in Vietnam.
Welcoming Comrade Lam Vu on his first visit to Vietnam in his capacity as Secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated Shandong on its important development achievements, maintaining its position as the locality with the third largest economic potential in China.
Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for taking the time to receive the delegation, the Shandong Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that Shandong highly values the friendly and cooperative relations with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities; is determined to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the high-level common perception, and make practical contributions to the development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries.
The two sides expressed their delight at the positive developments in the Vietnam-China relationship in all fields. Affirming that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam always attach great importance to and give top priority to developing the Vietnam-China relationship, the Prime Minister hoped that Shandong province and Vietnamese localities would promote the tradition of friendship, further promote exchanges and contacts at all levels, share development experiences, promote training of officials and human resources in areas where Shandong has strengths; step up exploitation of the potential and advantages of each side, create new breakthroughs in areas of substantive cooperation; prioritize increasing the import of Vietnamese goods, especially high-quality agricultural products.
The Prime Minister suggested that Shandong share its experience in implementing the Free Trade Zone; transfer advanced technology and train high-quality human resources for Vietnam, especially in the electronics, high-tech, low-emission and environmentally friendly sectors. He suggested that Shandong province, as a locality with a rich culture and history, the homeland of famous thinkers such as Confucius and Mencius, strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese localities in culture and tourism; enhance people-to-people exchanges, especially between the younger generation, to enhance understanding, foster friendship, and contribute to the development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries./.
