To prevent epidemics during the rainy and stormy season, the Commune Health Station has developed a plan to ensure environmental sanitation and prevent epidemics during the rainy and stormy season in 2025 in the area. Proactively arrange human resources, ensure reserves and provide enough medicine to dispense for some common diseases during the rainy and stormy season (dermatology, digestive diseases, eye diseases...) for people, chemicals, equipment for environmental treatment, water treatment to prevent epidemics according to regulations. Organize propaganda on hygiene, preservation and use of clean water for domestic purposes; environmental sanitation and measures to prevent and control epidemics before, during and after storms and floods. To cope with the storm and flood situation, the Medical Stations always closely monitor the developments of storm No. 10 and storm No. 11, update the flood situation, and from there implement environmental sanitation and waste management measures, not to interrupt medical work in responding to natural disasters and preventing and fighting epidemics during and after storms.
Especially after the storm in flooded areas, immediately after the water receded, the Health Station directly supported and guided people to implement environmental treatment measures. Collect and handle livestock and poultry carcasses according to regulations; disinfect tanks, disinfect clean water sources used for domestic purposes; organize spraying of chemicals to disinfect the environment . Continue to propagate in the whole commune about measures to ensure environmental hygiene and prevent epidemics. Provide Aquatabs water disinfection tablets and family medicine bags to households, each medicine bag includes 12 basic medicines and medical supplies, essential for primary health care for people, including: Paracetamol (pain reliever, fever reducer), Berberin (treats diarrhea), DEP (treats scabies, itching), Desloratadin (treats allergic rhinitis, hives, stuffy nose, itching) and other common medicines to help treat common diseases after storms and floods.

Accordingly, the delegation went to monitor the actual flooding points in Song Bang hamlet (Kim Dong commune), Ben Do residential group, Na Lu residential group (Thuc Phan ward). At Song Bang hamlet (Kim Dong commune), as of 9:00 a.m., there were still 7 households flooded more than 2 meters deep, the water had not shown any signs of receding, so it had a great direct impact on the daily life of the people. Here, the delegation took 4 water samples, including 01 sample at the Medical Station, 03 samples at Song Bang hamlet in the flooded area (02 samples of well water, 01 sample of natural water, 01 sample of concentrated clean water) to check hygiene and safety indicators (color, smell, microorganisms...). At the same time, Aquatabs water disinfectant tablets were distributed to 11 households. Instruct people on how to use Aquatabs tablets to disinfect domestic water and continue to implement environmental treatment measures and water source treatment according to regulations. In Hoa An Commune, 12/42 residential groups and hamlets were flooded, with 396 households flooded; of which 02 hamlets Ma Quan and Na Teng were completely flooded and inaccessible due to high water levels that had not receded. The Center for Disease Control provided Hoa An Commune Health Station with 25 kg of Cloramin B to disinfect the environment and 1,000 Aquatabs water disinfectant tablets to carry out environmental treatment and water source treatment to overcome the consequences of storm No. 11.

After monitoring the situation, the Working Group of the Center for Disease Control requested Kim Dong, Hoa An Health Stations and Hoang Tung Health Station to continue to support and guide people in hygiene and disease prevention according to regulations, and recommend people to eat and drink boiled water to prevent gastrointestinal diseases. It is necessary to implement "cleaning as the water recedes", focusing on cleaning water sources, treating waste, and killing insects to prevent gastrointestinal diseases, skin diseases, red eyes and other infectious diseases. At the same time, it is necessary to clean and disinfect wells and water tanks, only drink and cook with boiled or disinfected water... Closely monitor the situation of infectious diseases, promptly detect and thoroughly handle outbreaks of infectious diseases occurring in areas affected by storms and floods, and prevent epidemics from breaking out and spreading widely.
