Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education enrolls new major in microchip design

Associate Professor Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Acting Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, said that in 2024 the school will start enrolling students in two new majors: microchip design engineering and educational psychology. The total number of full-time university-level training majors offered by the school this year is 45.

In 2024, the school will enroll students according to the following methods: direct admission; priority admission; admission based on high school transcripts; 2024 high school graduation exam scores and the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam.

Method 1 is to directly admit high school graduates in 2024. Specifically, directly admit candidates who won 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes in the national excellent student exam (math, physics, chemistry, literature, English, biology, IT) or the national science and technology competition.

Method 2 is to prioritize admission of high school graduates in 2024. The threshold to ensure input quality is calculated based on the average score of the 5-semester transcript of each subject in the combination (there are 3 subjects), each subject is 5 or higher. Specifically as in the following table:

Method 3 is to consider admission based on high school transcripts for candidates who graduated in the last 3 years (graduated in 2022, 2023 and 2024).

The threshold to ensure input quality is the average score of the 5-semester transcript of each subject in the group (there are 3 subjects), each subject is 5 or higher.

Admission scores are divided into 3 groups: Specialized High Schools; Top 200 High Schools; Other High Schools. Admission scores are the total scores of 3 subjects according to the registered subject combination (without coefficient) plus priority points (without coefficient), from high to low.

For English language and English pedagogy majors, English subject is multiplied by a coefficient of 2. For fashion design, graphic design, architecture, interior architecture majors: drawing subject is multiplied by a coefficient of 2.

The school organizes separate aptitude tests, the deadline for receiving online applications is May 27 and the test is on June 8-9. The school also recognizes the aptitude test scores for 2024 from the following schools: Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts. Candidates are required to submit their aptitude test scores before June 14.

The school accepts online applications from March 1 to June 15.

Method 4 is based on the assessment score of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Method 5 is based on the 2024 high school graduation exam scores according to the general regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Candidates with an IELTS certificate or equivalent of 4.5 or higher can use it to convert English scores to apply for combinations with English subjects through the school's conversion system (applicable to priority admission methods, admission by high school transcripts, 2024 high school graduation exam scores).
