Nguyen Thi Van forged planning confirmation documents from authorities to inflate the value of mortgaged assets, created fake economic contracts, and then used fake VAT invoices to borrow and appropriate nearly 23 billion VND.
On May 22, Ho Chi Minh City Police said that Ms. Nguyen Bach Van (born in 1968, residing in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, residing in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), former Director of Phat Dat General Production Trading Service Company Limited, committed the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, Ms. Van is a defendant in a case of fraud and appropriation of property through the legal entity of Phat Dat General Production Trading Service Company Limited (abbreviated as Phat Dat Company).
Investigation showed that Van organized the forgery of planning confirmation documents of the Urban Management Department, People's Committee of Vung Tau City (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) to inflate the value of mortgaged assets. Van also created fake economic contracts between Phat Dat Company and 2 other companies and then used fake VAT invoices of these 2 companies to request Lien Viet Post Joint Stock Commercial Bank to disburse nearly 23 billion VND. After that, Van appropriated and used it for personal purposes.
In January 2024, the police prosecuted the defendant and issued an arrest warrant for Van, but Van escaped.
To serve the work of arresting the accused Van and handling it according to regulations, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department announces the search for the accused Van. People and organizations who discover Van's whereabouts should immediately notify the Economic Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department at 674 Ba Thang Hai Street (Ward 14, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) or the nearest local police and authorities.
