Female soldier selection: Height over 1.60m, well-proportioned appearance, bright complexion

Female citizens from 18 to 25 years old, 1.60m or taller, well-proportioned appearance, fresh military appearance, unmarried, childless... are some of the requirements of the Ministry of National Defense when selecting female soldiers to join the army in 2025.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense - signed and issued guidelines on the selection and call-up of female citizens for military service in 2025 (female soldiers).

Accordingly, in addition to the general conditions and standards as for selecting and calling male citizens to join the army, female citizens must have a voluntary application to serve in the army, confirmed by a family representative and the People's Committee of the commune where they permanently reside, and meet specific conditions and standards.

Regarding age, must be from 18 to 25 years old, citizens who have graduated from college or university must be from 27 years old, unmarried, and have no children.

Regarding health, must meet health standards of type 1 and type 2 according to regulations in Circular No. 105/2023/TT-BQP.

Height must be 1.60m or higher, with a balanced appearance and a fresh complexion.

Technical expertise, graduated from intermediate level or higher, priority given to citizens who graduated from university or college with training majors suitable to the needs of the Army.

In case of talent, follow separate regulations of the Ministry of National Defense.

In addition, units assigned with the quota to recruit female citizens for military service will proactively coordinate with localities to select and ensure that they meet the prescribed conditions and standards. They will be recruited in localities nationwide (recruitment separately) and will be counted towards the 2025 military recruitment quota of the locality and unit.

After recruiting, coordinating and handing over to the Hanoi Capital Command (for Northern units), Military Region 7 Command (for Southern units) for training, ensuring full procedures and documents, on time, absolute safety and implementing military management according to regulations.

Agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense assigned with the quota for recruiting female citizens shall direct their agencies and units to closely coordinate with localities to organize the selection of female citizens for military service, ensuring that they meet the prescribed conditions and standards, and shall be responsible to the Minister of National Defense for the quality of female citizens enlisted in the unit.
