10th grade admission in Ho Chi Minh City: Unexpected math test scores

Math scores in the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 were much higher than last year.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just announced the math score distribution in the 10th grade entrance exam in 2025.

Accordingly, the math score range this year is 6.5 - 7 points. Meanwhile, in 2024, the math score range is 4.25 - 5.25 points.

In addition, the number of candidates achieving excellent scores such as 9.75 and 9 points in math is also higher than last year: 68 candidates achieved 9.75 points; 143 candidates achieved 9 points. In 2024, these numbers will be 32 and 123 candidates, respectively.

However, the whole city only had 36 candidates scoring 10 in math, the number in 2024 was 49 students.

According to some math examiners, this year's math exam was somewhat easier than in 2024. However, the exam still had questions that differentiated candidates. Most students did not achieve full marks because the presentation and argument of the geometry test were not tight or there were small errors that led to losing points.

June 26: Announcement of admission scores for public grade 10

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, on June 26 the department will announce the benchmark scores for admission to public grade 10.

This year, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has shortened the time to announce exam scores and benchmark scores for grade 10. In previous years, the department only announced benchmark scores in July.
