Before Elon Musk took over the social media platform last year, Twitter signed a multi-year deal with Google to combat spam and protect accounts.

Platformer's report doesn't detail how the conflict between the companies might hamper the operations of Twitter's trust and safety team. Twitter has reportedly been trying to renegotiate its contract with Google since at least March.
Twitter hosts some services on its own servers and hosts others on cloud platforms from Amazon and Google, Platformer said.
In March, Amazon warned Twitter that it was suspending advertising payments because Twitter had not paid its cloud computing service bills.
Since the acquisition, Twitter has dramatically cut costs and laid off thousands of employees. Mr. Musk has ordered the company to cut $1 billion in infrastructure costs, such as spending on cloud services.
