On the afternoon of September 17 (local time), the Vietnam U17 women's team had their second friendly match during their training trip in Germany, against the Werder Bremen II women's team.

This is a team that is playing in the Regionalliga Nord (Germany's Third Division), with an average age of over 20. After 3 rounds, they are ranked 7th on the rankings with a record of 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss.

Facing an experienced and physically strong opponent, the young Vietnamese players entered the match with determination. The home team took the lead in the 27th minute, but 11 minutes later, the young Vietnamese girls equalized 1-1. However, before the end of the first half, Werder Bremen II increased the score to 2-1.

In the second half, Werder Bremen II continued to show their superiority in experience. The home team scored 4 more goals to close out the 6-1 victory. Notably, the U17 Vietnam team had a chance to increase the score clearly in the 86th minute, but their shot went over the crossbar.

Speaking after the match, coach Okiyama Masahiko said: "Although it is a reserve team for Werder Bremen's first team playing in the Bundesliga, it is also very strong.

They have superior physical strength, speed and experience, and in the squad there are some players older than U17 Vietnam. I rate today's opponent as really good quality."

"We have two consecutive matches so we don't have time to practice between matches. After this match, the whole team needs to improve their fighting ability, and at the same time take advantage of opportunities to steal the ball to organize quick attacks.

Today, the Vietnam U17 women's team lost the ball in many situations, and that led to some unfortunate goals," the Japanese coach added.

As planned, the Vietnam U17 women's team will continue to have a friendly match with the Werder Bremen U17 women's team today (September 18).

Bundesliga Dream

This is a training trip within the "Bundesliga Dream" program by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in cooperation with the German Football Federation (DFB).

The training trip to Germany is not only an opportunity for young Vietnamese players to accumulate competition experience and hone their technical and tactical skills, but also an opportunity to access the international professional football environment, thereby enhancing their mettle and confidence for the development path ahead.
