Tens of thousands of people in Dong Nai return home for Tet with "zero-dong ticket price"

(NLDO)-On the occasion of Tet, over 10,000 union members and workers were picked up and dropped off on buses and trains from Dong Nai to return home for Tet.

Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) Nguyen Thi Nhu Y said that with the motto that all workers have Tet, authorities at all levels, businesses, especially trade unions, have been accompanying workers.

It is expected that the whole province will give out 700,000 gifts at a cost of about 450 billion VND, of which the Provincial People's Committee will support 30 billion VND.

CLIP takes workers from Dong Nai on train to go home for Tet

These days, Dong Nai province's trade unions at all levels have been organizing to pick up and drop off over 10,000 union members and workers on buses and 1,000 union members and workers on trains to return home to celebrate Tet from January 23 to January 26.

Meanwhile, this year, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor supported and arranged 350 round-trip train tickets and 92 plane tickets to bring union members and workers in Dong Nai province back to their hometowns to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025.

After more than 12 years working as a worker in Dong Nai, Lai Van Bao (from Ha Giang province) has only returned home to visit his family during Tet twice. Partly because of difficult conditions and partly because the long distance is expensive, Bao stayed at his boarding house to celebrate Tet with his colleagues.

This year, on the occasion of Tet, Mr. Bao received support from the Union for a train ticket to go home, he was both happy and touched. Over the past few days, Mr. Bao has been looking forward to boarding the train to go home to celebrate Tet with his family.

Mr. Bao said that he and his wife both work as workers in Dong Nai with an income of more than 12 million VND/month. In addition to the money sent home for their children's education, his family saves up to pay for rent and living expenses. Because they have no savings, many Tet holidays have passed and he has missed appointments with his family and relatives.

"I took the train back to my hometown with the support of Dong Nai Trade Union. I thank the Trade Union for helping many families far from home like me to celebrate the warm traditional Tet holiday at home" - Mr. Bao emotionally shared.
